A/n: Okay so I've been posting quite a lot lately. This one shot is because although it was beautiful I wanted Victoria to talk to Charlotte not kiss her goodnight and leave. As always Sia is my inspiration. Her songs really help with writing for Victoria. This is during the finale btw I vaguely remember what happened so if I'm off just go with it! ;P

Disclaimer: One day soon I'll own revenge

Victoria Grayson hovered over her daughter's sleeping form. If Charlotte only knew how much she looked like David when she slept. It was moments like this when she had no regrets, when Victoria was sure that bringing this child into the world was the right decision.

She brushed a few stray hairs out of charlotte's face, pulled the covers over her body, and prepared to leave.

"Mom is that you?" Charlotte's sleepy voice called out.

"Just go back to sleep, darling. We'll talk in the morning."

Charlotte grabbed her mother's wrist, pulling her back onto the bed.

"We'll talk now," Charlotte decided.

Victoria took a deep breath, mentally preparing herself for the conversation to come.

"He's dead, mom. Declan is dead," Charlotte deadpanned, fresh tears springing to her eyes.

Victoria winced, she had been in the exact same situation with Charlotte.

She took her daughter's hands, staring into her eyes.

"Charlotte, the next few months are going to be especially difficult for us all. But, I want you to know that I'm here for you. Once upon a time I was you, scared out of my wits, pregnant, and dealing with the loss of my love," Victoria began shakily, this topic was always sore.

"Mom, can I ask you a question?"

Victoria nodded her consent.

"If my father was still alive would you still love him?"

"Of course I would still love him. The question is would he still love me," Victoria countered playfully.

"I am an entirely different person today than I was back then, darling. He was also a different person when he died," Victoria explained, voice hitching on the last few words.

"But, mom, that shouldn't matter, if you lo-"

Victoria cut her off.

"Darling, one day you will reach a point where you'll have to tell your child about their father. I want you to be able to speak freely, so let's focus on Declan now. I promise you that one day we'll have that discussion it's just not today."

Charlotte nodded understandingly.

"What did you love about him?"

Charlotte's bewildered expression caused Victoria to laugh. Charlotte smiled, it'd been years since she'd heard her mother's laugh.

"I loved his hair, his smile, his laugh," Charlotte began to list things, rambling happily.

A shadow crossed her face.

"I loved him mom. I LOVED HIM!" she began crying hysterically.

Victoria pulled her daughter into her arms, running her hands over her hair. She knew that Charlotte was handling the situation as best she could. Now it was time for her to be a mother, she could no longer avoid her daughter, especially in her time of need.

Victoria waited and reflected on the times Charlotte cried as a child. Before she knew it her daughter had quieted, and appeared to be ready to return to sleep.

Victoria rose from the bed, placing a kiss on Charlotte's head.

"Mom, will it ever stop hurting?"

Victoria smiled a sad smile.

"Ask me tomorrow."

A/n2: It's not much but I needed to get this out of my head!
