01. Smirk

Katsuya wanted to wipe the stupid 'I told you so' smirk off of the other man's face. Even though their relationship was significantly better than when they had first met four years ago (both were prone in their own ways to making a bad first impression), they were both still liable to go at eachother's throats under pressure.

He seethed, but Baofu had a point. He had nearly rushed headlong into a Shadow's trap, and he didn't want to imagine what would have happened to him. Based on the monster's proclivity towards afflicting the group with charm, he could hazard the guess that it would be something mind-altering.

He shuddered.

Mayazumi once almost killed the entire group under the influence of a Shadow. Had it not been for Amano noticing some uncharacteristic tics, well, he wouldn't want to imagine how that would have turned out. The group was paranoid of one another for awhile after, and with good reason.

If he were to seriously hurt any of his allies, even under the effects of such a condition, he wouldn't be able to forgive himself.

That still didn't mean Baofu had to be so petulant about it.
