Entwined Wind
Prologue
"Inu. . . yasha. . .?"
She could feel the vigorous pounding in her chest as she desperately clung to the hope that he would soon awaken from the cataleptic-like state he appeared to be in. Every ounce of her essence yearned to cry out, to be heard against the howling wind of despair that swept between them.
Nevertheless, she ceased to hear the familiar low voice of the hanyou that would continually reassure her that everything would be all right. His eyelids flew shut, unwilling to open to the lively golden orbs she felt she had known all her life. The color drained from his face and she felt the ice cold skin beneath her anxious touch as she cradled the man's face in the palm of her hand.
And for the first time in years, a stream of tears scorched her cheeks as she wept over the hanyou's lifeless form.
She had never felt such an immense pain wrack her body as it did now. She shouted his name over and over against the wave of dread that gripped her heart.
"Don't," she murmured quietly, embracing his silver head in the fashion a child would a favorite stuffed toy. Her bottom lip quivered as she fought to choke the words she wished to say from the recesses of her throat. "Inuyasha. . . You promised that you would never leave. . . You said that we would be together no matter what."
"Please, don't leave me alone, Inuyasha."
A/N: Evil cliff-hanger of doom! Muwahahahahaha! I hope that you like what I've written so far of it :) Yes, I know, it's only the prologue, but I'm freakin' excited about that. I haven't watched Inuyasha in what feels like ages, and I know I can never abandon that dog-eared hanyou I use to watch twenty-four seven on Adult Swim no matter how hard I try. So, this story for some reason came to mind when I woke up this morning. Pretty strange idea... Yes, I know. Reviews would be appreciated! :D
