The Great Dragon stood on the rock, the chain that had bound him for so long loosed at last.
"I have one final message for you, young warlock." He said, feeling compassion on the servant who had become his savior.
Merlin looked up, eager to hear what he knew must be the most important advice of all.
"Remember this. Though you destiny is great, it is not meant to be fulfilled alone. In your time of greatest need, to not lose hope. For one will come through great sacrifice to be your salvation." The Great Dragon looked at the boy with an almost tenderness. He had become fonder of this 'mere' servant than he cared to admit. "Keep that promise close at hand. It will carry you though the most desperate of times."
And then he was gone, the powerful strokes of his wings echoing off the cavern walls.
Kilgharrah was free.
