Chapter 1: A girl's power
Hello everyone. Lady SOLDIER Maria here and yep this is my first fic!!! Yay me . This chapter of the fic happens before the Wutai war. The rest is during the war. Sephiroth is 14 in this chapter and Maria is 12. At this rate Seph would be 25 at the Nibelheim incident since the war raged on for 10 years (according to Wikipedia).

Sephiroth walked down the busy streets of Midgar. He was just promoted to General of the Army.
"Hey! Give that back," a little girl shouted Sephiroth sighed and followed the voice. Three boys were holding a stuffed mog above a black haired girl's head. "I said give it back!" the girl yelled.
Before he grabbed his sword from its sheath, a voice rang out. "You heard my friend now give it back," A young girl about 12 years old with brown hair and light hazel eyes stepped out of the shadows.
"Maria, oh hell," one of the boys muttered. "Who cares we can take her on," another said. "The three of us against her? The bitch doesn't have a chance." the last one agreed.
Her eyes glared at one of the boys and in the blink of an eye, she slammed the boy into the ground, the boy's blood splattered on the ground. She did the same to the other two. One managed to rip off some of her flesh from her arm with a knife, but she defeated him easily.
She looked at Sephiroth and nodded at him and said "Don't worry I'm alright now show yourself." Knowing it would be wise to do so he did, his silver hair streaming behind him.
She giggled and walked off 'What a strange girl' he thought. Leaving the little girl and her mog alone.
