Authors Notes- Here is the re-write of a fic a did a while ago, no longer in script form and spellchecked! (which it should have been in the first place, but...)
WARNING-much OOCness and fluffyness.
I find this embarrassingly pathetic but maybe other people like it...Im no good at sappy stuff but this just popped into my head (and I know there's a million others like it)in any case, onwards!

"My Cure was Always Right in Front of Me"

Lina and Zel walked down a dirt path deep underground in a shrine where Zel hoped to find (what else?) a cure
"So how did you find out about this one, Zel?" Lina asked, curious.
"One of the townspeople told me about a hidden passage under this temple." Zel replied stoically.
"So what makes you think it's here?" Lina inquired.
Zelgadis shrugged. "I'll try any lead. You know that, Lina."
Lina looked sceptical "well, okay..."
They walked down the path for awhile, Lina occasionally complaining that she was hungry, that this was pointless, blah, blah, blah, etc. When they finally reached the
end of the path which was a large stone door, Zelgadis attempted to open it.
"Zel, it's stuck! You'll never be able to open it!"
"Well, I can try anyways, can't I?"
After pushing on it for a long time, Zelgadis had to agree with Lina. The door was absolutely, positively, stuck. Even a Fireball didnt dent it, and even Lina wasn't stupid enough to try a Dragon Slave in such an enclosed space.
Zelgadis sighed. "It'll never open! Another dead end...This is ridiculous!"
Zel sunk to the floor and just -sat- there.
"Zel? Zel, are you all right?" she asked him, worried.
"Just leave me alone..." he said, defeated.
"But-"
"I said LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"
Lina looked shocked, and then laid a hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, it'll be okay. You'll find a cure. Trust me!" she said, smiling.
Zel looked at her. Trust her? Then again, had she ever given him a real reason -not- to trust her? "no" he thought to himself. He stood up.
"thanks, Lina." he said.
Lina smiled and blushed lightly
"It's okay...I mean, it's just not like you to give up like that. It was like you weren't yourself anymore...It was kind of scary. I mean, and this probably sounds silly. but I'd kinda miss you if you started acting like that." she said, turning redder.
"Nani?"
"Uh....Well...Well, I..."
Then she turned around and impulsively kissed him. Zel gasped, and Lina stopped, blushing furiously.
"Oh..geeze...Gosh, im sorry...I just-"
Zelgadis stopped her with a hand over her mouth
"It's okay....I feel the same way"
Lina looked at him
"You do?"
He nodded. She leaned in to kiss him again, and this time he didnt pull back.
Suddenly, Zelgadiss felt the cold stone of his body turn warm. Glancing down at his hand, his eyes widened. Instead of blue-gray stone, there was soft pink skin. He stepped back, completely astounded.
"Zel? what's wrong...?"
Then she saw his normal, human face, and her eyes widened.
"How...what..."
"I guess it was the kiss...a kiss of true love."
Lina blushed but smiled happily
"Zel, this is great! You found a cure, after all."
Zelgadiss shook his head
"No, my cure was always right in front of me"
Lina smiled happily at him, and they kissed once more.

THE END
ack...I know, I was cringing when I re-wrote it.
