If Only...........


Over seven years I've sat beside her,
We've laughed, cried and joked together,
I followed her orders and done her bidding,
I've been her reasoning side to her unreasonable side.

All this time I've remembered the time we spent together on New Earth,
Longing for a moment with her alone,
To hold her close to me,
To let down her flame red hair and softly stroke it,
To stare into her deep blue eyes,
Wishing I could bathe in those pools of light.

To hear her breathe and watch as her body moves in time to each breathe,
To let her sleep in my arms and dream good things,
I f only we could do that together just once,
But protocol will never allow her to do it.
