Disclaimer: I don't own American Dragon: Jake Long series. Disney holds all rights regarding the show.

A/N: The idea for this fanfic came when I was watching the season2 episode 'dreamscape'. Rose says that she had already explored the dream realm while in the hunts clan academy and I thought that she must have sneaked a peek at Jake's dreams and memories as well.

Rose was wandering down the dream corridor aimlessly; she had just procured the dream charm a few weeks back and was spending her nights exploring the unchartered territory of dreams.

Rose always tried to keep herself occupied with something because if she didn't then her thoughts would drift back to Jake-her crush and her enemy. It had been a month since Jake had revealed that he was the American Dragon to a stunned Rose, though that had saved his life it had also traumatized Rose and made her angry.

Angry at the world and angry at Jake-why did HE have to turn out to be the damned dragon, why did he make her fall in love with him. Sometimes Rose would laugh at the situation she was in, it was like in those corny romance novels- in love with her supreme enemy, the one she was destined to slay. But Jake's revelation had also made her question her destiny and her loyalty- were dragons really as bad as the huntsman had always taught her? Because if Jake was the American Dragon then he led dual lives and in his human persona he was that simple adorable guy who had danced with her, saved her from falling on the stairs and saved her from dying in that avalanche.

Rose stopped walking abruptly at that thought, she had almost forgotten about the ski trip incident, now it all made sense- the American dragon pulling off her glove and staring at her birthmark and then later saving her from certain death.

Rose realized that Jake had already found out that she was the huntsgirl and yet he had saved her. That thought made her ridiculously happy, because then it just proved that he loved her or at least had feelings for her. But then she sighed because their relationship seemed impossible and forbidden now.

She knew she was at a crossroads of sorts, she had to make a decision and soon, but she was afraid the outcome. She shook her head lightly and cleared her head- there would be time for this later but for now she would enjoy this moment of peace in her dreams.

In a moment's decision she decided to go in Jake's dreams, she knew that she should stay away from him but she rationalized that she just wanted to know her enemy better so that she could have a upper hand in their battles but then she sighed and put her head on a wall and whispered to herself :

"Who are you fooling rose? You know you can never kill him now"

But whatever the reason she had made up her mind to go into his dreams, she would finally unravel the mystery of Jake Long.

A/N: I was always disappointed that it was not shown how hard it must have been for rose to betray her clan to help Jake. For me the biggest evidence of her love for Jake was this, because if she just had a simple crush she would have rationalized that he was simply not worth it BUT that fact that she didn't want him dead proved that he was worth it and that she was deeply in love with him.

Sorry for the rambling, I am really passionate when it comes to Jake and Rose.
