For the past hour, nearly every inhabitant of Madotsuki's dream world, from the calm and quiet Yuki-Onna to the childlike and noisy Neon beings - and even the talkative and social Monochrome sisters of the White Desert - had been having a party in the Humble home of Poniko and Uboa.
Parties weren't such an unusual thing, unless Madotsuki herself would decide to sleep for a few days with no end. The beings would be more than happy if she joined; if only she was not so hostile to the Toriningen and stabbed everything.
Everything and everyone were very aware of Mado's bad 'habit'
Masada-Sensei was often a victim of this, but would always come back after when she left.
He did this not because he enjoyed it, but because he had cared for her like a daughter. Masada was aware that why she truly did such things was to make sure they would be by her, never being able to leave. In truth, she was very lonely. Anyone could see this but not all would come back.
That is why she never "marked" Poniko.
Because like her, Poniko would not come back and neither would Uboa.
Madotsuki never wanted that.
She may have killed any being within her lucid world and they would come back (well most of them at least) right after she turned away, but not Poniko.
Because Poniko was like Mado: a fragile person that once broken, cannot be fixed.
Yes, it may have hurt quite a lot, but the beings still tried to make her content.
This topic always brought everyone down, since Mado rarely opened up at all and was never able to express her true self.
But still, they all tried to help no matter how much time it would take and they would always get more in the mood.
But this time was very, very different.
This was the time for Mado to show herself.
Madotsuki had been there to witness every gathering that had been held at Poniko's home.
This time they had gotten much too into the mood as they always do and had not noticed that Madotsuki herself, was in fact, witnessing these parties each time.
She was going to join them this time.
It was only when the door had been slowly but somewhat loudly swung open that they had finally noticed.
Standing silently at the door frame was the very fragile creator of the dream world they knew and loved, Madotsuki.
All in shock, there is a long and cruel silence shared between every inhabitant of the room.
It's only when Mado glares down at the table to find a cake and burst into tears out of complete happiness and then smiles when she finishes reading what is written on it as everyone yells the phrase;
"Happy Birthday Madotsuki!"
