It was hot. Like too hot. Professor Sycamore was started to sweat and Shauna looked like she was going to jump his bones on sight. I only covered my mouth in disgust.
"Bonjour!, welcome to my lab in Lumiose City!". We all looked at each other, we were all too hot to focus. " Pardonne moi...such heat is a bother yes?". We all nodded in a gloomy mood. "Well here in Lumiose city it gets rather hot and i guess it's one of those days...hmm it just can't be helped". I wanted to crash on the floor and feel the coldness of the wooden on my cheek, it looked so clean and cold.
" I'm like soooo sorry professor, the battle institute took longer then usual!". She gasped for air as if she had ran out of breath. " Hey you guys...". "Heyyy..." we all said in depression. Everyone except for Shauna. " SERENA! You like can't keep showing up late, don't you know it gets lonely when you're the only girl in the whooollleee team?!". Serena only smiled awkwardly.
Professor Sycamore lifted his eyebrow in confusion and then lifted it down and shook his head. "No time for discussion my pupils!, first is first, Calem!". I lifted my head in shock. " A-ah yeah?". He smiled, "I hear you are quite the challenge when it comes to battles, i would like to test your skills!".
Serena stood in front of the professor and looked at him with irritation. " Quite the challenge?!, My neighbor here is the best of the best of the BEST, so i would count your blessings because he IS going to be the greatest!". She looked back at me and threw a thumbs up. " Now rival, you better not make me wrong!". I smiled at her and nodded my head. " Très bien!, such friendship makes me a little jealous but now to the battle!".
The professor shook his head in defeat. " Quite the challenge indeed...". He smiled. " Well considering I was defeated, i will give you a second companion for your trip yes?". I tilted my head in confusion. " This here is bulbasaur, this is squirtle, and this is charmander!". I chose bulbasaur and smiled at the poke ball. Serena ran over and stole the poke ball from my hands and stuck out her tongue. "H-Hey! Serena give it back!". She smirked, "But bulbasaur loooovesss meee see?".
I finally got the poke ball out her hands, goofed around with everyone before leaving, and started for the Lumiose Badlands. I then regretted my decision considering it was still 90 °F outside. " N-nevermind i'll just get a hotel and wait for the temperature to drop". I then got in a taxi hoping i had enough.
