I don't own Monk

Author's Note: Please note that this is an AU story. Trudy is still alive in this story. Also it is based on personal experience though the details have been changed. Randy and Trudy know each other in this story and they are friends. This is not a romance story.

The two friends sat at the table in Friendly's. They were in the middle of a conversation.

"So," Randy began but she interrupted

"Are you alright," she asked gently, "You don't seem to be yourself today."

He sighed.

"I'm sorry," he said, "I had a bad date last night. You seem to be doing well."

"It's a good day today," she said, "and by the way I can totally relate. I had a bad experience like that once when I lived in New York. It was probably the scariest thing that ever happened to me."

"A bad date is scary?"

"Well it wasn't just a bad date," Trudy said, "This guy was a creep. We became friends through matchemupfriends dot com. He was so polite. He was so respectful. He was so kind-"

"Sounds terrible," Randy said sarcastically

"Hold it," she said, "I'm not totally done here. He was 18. I was 19. We decided that we would meet in the restaurant at times square. Well, when we get there, we both got there at the same time, my date comes up to me and greets me. He tries to get me to come back to his house with him. When I refuse he demands I give him $500.00 which I didn't have to give him. Ethan, that was the guy's name was annoyed and made me buy him lunch. I was really frightened of him by now so I did what he said and wanted to get the hell out of there as soon as possible. The lady at the restaurant confronted him about his behavior and he tried to say I was his wife and push me into going somewhere else. Well this lady wasn't stupid and there was no way I was playing along. The lady threatened him saying she would get a knife from the kitchen and slice and dice him if he didn't bug off. He grabbed my change and left in a fit. Another friend stayed with me while I got my ticket and took the train home with me. I was terrified for days after that."

"Man," he said, "and I thought I had a bad date"

Final note: NEVER meet up with a person in private until you know them extremely well. Not everyone is going to be what they appear to be. There are people who are going to appear to be nice and polite but they drop the act as soon as they meet you in person. If you ever feel like you are in danger do what the person says and get the hell out of there as soon as you can. If someone is trying to injure you scream, yell and do whatever you have to do in order to escape. Please… this happened to me though I have changed some of the details.
