A New day
Fiona wondered about Michael's loft wondering if he was ever coming back, if she might actually see him again. The weeks following that moment in the hotel she couldn't help to come back to the loft and to see something familiar, something real. Fiona wasn't a woman to tear up easily but the night following her and Michael's almost suicide she crawled up onto Michael's bed and sobbed for what seemed like hours. When she woke up, she decided to explore around the loft that what Michael's home for the last 4 years.
As she was going through a stack of papers a white envelope with the words Ireland on it written Michael's handwriting fell out onto her lap. The name of her home country made her heart jump as she ripped the envelope open. What she found inside was something she thought had disappeared a long time ago with Michael McBride.
"He kept these, oh Michael."
Fiona said with shock as she traced the faces in the pictures of a young Irish couple causing trouble all over Dublin. She knew that he loved her, a blind man could see that but now she realized that the sacrifice to die with Michael in the hotel was all worth it. Everything she had been through the last 4 years with him was worth it. After she was done looking at all the pictures she put them back and as she was walking toward the door, Fiona looked back once and walked away.
The sun was rising in the Miami sky as Fiona reached her "borrowed" car. She put on her sunglasses and drove off knowing everything was going to be okay because there was always going to be the past to look back on and there was always going to be a new day.
