Ok so welcome to my one-shot: the Nymphs of Hestia read review and enjoy! (this is all totally made up.)
Hestia Pov
I was minding my own business at the hearth on Mount Olympus, when suddenly a green spark rose out of the hearth. All the Olympians looked at me confused, but I wore a big smile on my face. I couldn't believe it. Another child. "Another child," I breathed out. Unfortunately, Aphrodite has good ears. "Oh?" She said suggestively. I winced and looked around the throne room for my fellow gods' reactions. Poseidon raised his eyebrow but said nothing. Zeus was looking at me with a bit of anger, Artemis and Athena had looks of shock and rage on their faces, Demeter and Hera had disapproving looks on their faces, Apollo and Hermes were just plain confused. The rest of the gods were bored. Athena finally shouted, "You had children? You broke your oath!" I replied, "Calm down, dear niece." Let me tell you what that spark is and what it has to do with my children."
The story
Every 5 centuries or so, a green spark rises up from the hearth. The spark swells until it becomes a kind of bubble, and when the bubble pops, a nymph falls out. They are called the children of the hearth. Or rather: the nymphs of Hestia. When they fall out of the bubble, they fall into the fire of my hearth and so they become immortal.
End story
Athena Pov
As I absorbed that piece of information, the other gods around me began chattering excitedly. I shushed them and suddenly a nymph fell in the fire. When she came out we gasped. The nymph had tan skin unlike the other nymphs who have green, she had green eyes that blazed with a kind of fire, wavy brown hair spilling over her shoulders and was dressed in orange-ish chiton with a leather breastplate with a bronze sword sheathed at her side. She looked about fourteen. She spoke up, "I'm am Ailith.
Ok so that was it. Check out the sequel which I will soon be posting!
