So... how long has it been? A year? Well, it has been a year since I updated my last fanfic, which I put on hold due to writer's block. It's the one called Change of Heart. It looks like I disappeared all of a sudden and quit writing, but I'm still here lurking.
You people might remember my first fanfic, CB: Good Meets Evil. I promised a sequel when I finished it back in December 2013, but the thing is, I was empty of ideas. It wasn't until now that I finally came up with a plot and decided to let the words flow after a year. Good news! Here it is! That means you have to go to my profile and read Crash Bandicoot: Good Meets Evil because you will be confused if you don't do so. If you read it, then you'll do fine reading this one. Hopefully this one doesn't suck. Here's the prologue to give you all a proper intro to the story. Enjoy!
Prologue
Have you ever thought about why do villains keep coming back to defeat the hero? After so many battles lost and a few battles won, the overconfident villain still does not know when to give up. But what happens when someone you thought would never see again comes back by surprise? It's like the ocean waves which retreat from the coast and come back to wash up something on the shore. It comes and goes; a cycle which can be stopped only destiny allows it.
Ah, yes. How could people forget the peaceful life they have been living these 15 months since the last failed scheme of Cortex which threatened them all? This isn't eternal tranquility, for it lasts a while until Cortex destroys it; and Crash restores it. After each storm, the sun comes out. Still, it's an endless cycle of rising and falling. Villains rise, but fall after the hero's bold quest is done. Heroes rise, but fall when the villain comes back stronger.
Time to see the same thing happen again...
''Alyster, stop and take a look at this,'' the 30-something man said to his anthropomorphic fox companion. The two were walking around the mysterious island, stumbling upon something that caught their attention.
''Why? I just want to go home,'' he replied.
''Seriously? We're still 20 minutes away from N. Sanity Island,'' he replied as he looked at the map on his phone. ''That can wait. This is more important. Maybe no one has even dared to open this before.''
The fox took a closer look. ''Interesting. It probably has something in there.''
''Open it.''
The fox and the man turned around. It was another one of their group who disappeared for a half hour and came back.
''Dominick! There you are! I thought you left,'' says Alyster.
''I was just sitting near the coast,'' he replied. ''All this walking made me tired. Aren't you gonna open it?''
The three looked at each other for a few seconds and opened the door.
''Oh, my... th-this cannot be real!''
A bright light came out of nowhere and almost blinded them. Alyster looked at his human companion and saw his worried expression on his face.
''A-Alyster... where's Dominick?'' The man closed it immediately and looked at him, repeating himself. ''Where is he?!''
''It took him! HE'S GONE!''
