All you Edward Elric fans will completely hate me because of this fic. Too bad for all of you. I've always wanted to do this.

Disclaimers: Fullmetal Alchemist if not mine. Mina is though.

--------------------------------

It was just another day, nothing important. Most trees wore bare branches, showing signs that winter was drawing near, along with the birthday of one familar alchemist and the daughter of one deceased Maes Hughes. Red, yellows, browns, and some oranges, the leaves always varied in color. It was much prettier than their normally green color when they hung on the trees.

The crimson soles of one blonde's dusky boots, crunched down on the litter of fallen leaves as he trudged his way along. The scenery wasn't important to him at this point in time. Rays of light poured down on a slip on paper in Edward's gloved hand, nearly blinding his golden eyes as he stared down at it. Moving the free appendage up to block it, he read over the slip. "Come to the abandoned church. I'll be waiting."

The hand writing was 'hers,' he was positive of that. Why would she want him to meet her in such a place, anyways? He'd just ask her when he got there, right? Yeah. She'd certainly tell him.

Looking over the place, the short alchemist was sure this was it. There really wasn't many abandon churches in Central, after all. Pushing the doors open he walked inside, greeted by the dark inner chamber of the cathedral. Dust settled on everything inside and he was sure he saw a few cobwebs here and there. There were some places the dust, which looked like it had been piling for years, had been disturbed. It appeared to have been recent, too.

"I'm glad you came." A famliar voice broke into his thoughts. His attention shot over to where he'd heard it, focusing on a familiar female. Umber locks fell over her shoulders, a crimson strand standing out among the tresses. Something was off.. And he knew exactly what it was. The usual gentle cerulean eyes, softed from her caring nature, were dull and blank, yet held a cold stare. Clad in shadowy apparel,(A short sleeved peasant top and kneelength skirt) a crimson tattoo marked her pale skin, just above the right side of her collar bone. An ouroborous..

He stared at her, eyes widened in horror. How could this be! It had to be a trick.. But.. "Mina? What happened to you?" he questioned, but his voice was too shaky for his liking.

She took careful steps towards him, glints of pain in her eyes, since being near him was causing her pain. "Nothing happened to me, Edward." Closer.. Slowly she drew nearer to him. He was frozen in disbelief, just staring at her form. As she stood before him, a soft but false smile came into place on her lips. "I love you, Edward," she whispered into his ear, leaning her head on his shoulder.

His eyes were wide, body limp as he slid off her transformed appendage, which was now covered in his blood. He was dead the moment she had drawn near him. "Goodbye."
