A/N: This is a (Shakespearean) sonnet that I did for my creative writing class a while ago. I never thought to put it up but I read it again and I really liked it. It is inspired by The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux and of course all credit goes to him!

I still hear my Angel's cries,
As he held me in harsh embrace,
When I said my final goodbye
And left the darkness of that place.
His ring sears my finger,
Although it no longer claims me.
The sensation continues to linger,
As I feel tethered by a line which only I can see.
But his music plays in my mind,
Releasing sweet memories of the past
When our souls had entwined,
And life did not move very fast.
When there was innocent joy,
When we both played coy.
