Today is the day of the Reaping. My thoughts of how proud I am overwhelm me. I, Enobaria Vilachi, have been chosen to volunteer for the 65th Annual Hunger Games. I step out of the shower and wrap a peach coloured towel around me. I dry off and put on a simple tee-shirt and my favourite black shorts. I place my hand on a magnificent piece of equipment. The moment my hand touches it, my hair flows in a dry, silky wave behind my back. It is a wonder that we were able to afford it, but I don't care. As soon as I win my Hunger Games, I will be able to afford anything I want. Once my soft brown hair is dry, I run downstairs, to find my younger brother, Mark, sat at the dinner table. He is only 7, and he is the main reason I HAVE to win my Games. "I will win." I think cockily. That's the reason I was chosen to volunteer. They wouldn't have chosen me if they didn't think I could do it.
I spin around in a circle and give my brother a kiss on the cheek.
"Eno?" He says. "Yes Mark?" I reply. "Today is the day of the reaping isn't it? He says. "Yes it is. The day I have been waiting for my entire life has come. FINALLY!" I say. "Make sure you win." He says quietly. "I promise you I will Marky." I reply. And I mean my promise. I never break my promises.
I wave at my Mother, who is in the garden, and she mimes putting on clothes and makes an upwards motion, meaning my reaping clothes are upstairs. I skip up my narrow staircase and run to my bedroom. There, laying on my bed, is the most breathtaking dress I have ever seen. It shimmers in the light, making the golden material shine like the sun. I put it on, to find it makes my slim, curvy upper body look stunning. at my waist it flows out into loads of little layers, all ending a couple of inches above my knee. I have always been pretty, my friends and admirers never let me forget it, but this dress, this amazing dress, just exaggerates my beauty. I decide to curl my hair, I still have two hours before the reaping. After my hair is in perfect curls, I look at my face. I decide I need no make up other than mascara and eye liner. I carefully create the 'smokey eye' effect and add mascara to make it look complete. I need no foundation as my completion is perfect. And with that, I grab my brothers hand, adjust his hair, place some matching gold heals on, and head out of the door to the reaping.
