Chapter Two
"HEY MIKE!!!" yelled Jonny as he saw his brother come around the side of a
small building.
"Hey Jonny, What are you doing here? Are you on your way to Pallet?"Mike
said rather friendly.
"Of course. I need to go to see Professor Oak. Mom and dad finally allowed me
to get my trainers license. Hold on real quick, Lemme check to see what Mom and Dad
gave me before we leave." said Jonny impatiently.
"Sure take all the time you need. Me and Leo just came from the PokeCenter,
and right now Leo is buying our supplies from the PokeMart. I told him to pick up a few
extra potions and revives. You can have the extra's that we get. Dad probably gave you
one of his many Pidgeys, but I don't know what Mom could've gotten you. It's probably
some food."
"Yeah I guess so. But dad gave it to me like it was something special? He gave
this to me like it was something special." said Jonny as he opened the Pokeball. A flash
of white light filled the area as a Growlithe popped out.
"GROWL..GROWLITHE!!!" it said.
"Wow, I'm suprised that Dad actually gave you one of his good Pokemon!"
"Growlithe...Return!"
"Now lemme see what Mom gave me. Hey it's a sack with a note. It says:
Dear Jonny,
I'm so proud that you are starting on your own Pokemon adventure. I
hope you like the present I got you. I got you 10 Pokeballs for capturing new Pokemon.

"Cool. I will definitely put these to good use!"
"Hey Leo, you all set to go on our trip?" said Mike as Leo was returning from the
Pokemart.
"Yeah! Just lemme pack our stuff in the bags. You wouldn't believe how cheap
everything is here. I was able to buy 5 Pokeballs a piece, 10 potions, and 4 revives for
only 100 Pokedollars. Who is this guy?"
"Oh Leo this is Jonny, my older brother. He's starting out as a new trainer pretty
soon. He'll be joining us all the way to Pallet. He is gonna get his first starting
Pokemon!"
"That's cool. Well if we are going to Pallet we had better get a move on if we
want to get there before dark. Oh yeah, Jonny do you need some supplies? Here take
these 2 potions and a revive. You'll need them.
"Thanks!" said Jonny as Leo handed him the stuff. "I have a question for both of
you. What Pokemon did both of you start out with? I'm having a hard time deciding
which one start out with."
"Well," said Mike, "you already have a Growlithe."
"Wait a minute!!!" said Leo. "How can you already have a Pokemon? I thought
we were taking you to Pallet Town to get your first Pokemon, right?"
"My dad gave me this Pokemon before I left home. I didn't know what Pokemon
it was, and I was very impatient and wanted to see what Pokemon that I got."
"You had better be careful not to tell the Professor that or to let anyone else know
that you have a Pokemon without your license or else you can get in a lot of trouble. To
answer your question Jonny, I picked Charmander as my first Pokemon." said Leo very
proudly.
"Well I picked Squirtle. It's the best Pokemon ever!!!" said Mike even more
confidently than Leo.
"Well since Professor Oak now has fifty Pokemon to choose from the decision is
even harder." said Jonny very worried.
"Well you can think about it on the way. We need to hurry if we want to get there
by morning" said Mike.
Jonny agreed. He realized that his brother he become a lot more responsible and
polite since he left home.
