It's Hard To Say Good Bye
This is my first work on here so critique is very appreciated. c:
I wrote this while listening to Michael Ortega's "It's Hard To Say Goodbye" and I suggest listening to it while reading.
Also, I am aware that Levi is Levi and not Rivaille, but i just like Rivaille more.
Angst and character death so heads up. Though it's really short so it might not cause that much emotion.
It's hard to say goodbye. It hurts to say goodbye. But when someone leaves – you have no choice.
"Eren… Don't go…"
You can pretend that they're still there, that nothing's happened, but in truth you will never feel the warmth of their body, you will never hear the tenderness and affection their voice ever again.
"Corporal... Forgive me…"
All that's left are memories – bitter reminders of their passed existence.
"Hang on. You'll be okay!"
And no matter how many tears you shed, nothing will be the same ever again.
"Rivaille… Please."
It's a dream you cannot awaken from.
"Eren! You will live."
Because it's not a dream.
"…I love you… Prends soin de toi…"
It's an excruciatingly painful reality.
"…I love you too, Eren… À la prochaine."
Prends soin de toi. – French for "take care of yourself".
À la prochaine. – French for "until we meet".
