Hello Everyone! Just another drabble/one-shot by Sarah! This time it's UsUk. However, I, Jax, believe that this is more England than UsUk but, Sarah said it was so I guess it is!

England smiled sheepishly at the child before him, proudly strutting around in a soldier's uniform. The little boy was ostentatiously displayed in a bright blue version of the English uniform, and it made the older man sad to burst his bubble.
"Alfred," England began gently, "As lovely as that uniform looks on you, it should be red."
The blond boy turned with a frown. "But I like this color better!"
England smiled complacently, kneeling to be at the boy's height in order to ruffle the locks he had attended to just for the uniform. "And one day, when you're bigger, you'll have your own."
Alfred's chubby face split into a bright grin, "Can it be blue?"
England smiled gently. "It can be whatever colour you want."
The little boy crowed in delight. "I'll be the best country ever! I'll be super strong, and I'll be everyone's hero!"
Arthur eyes crinkled as he smiled. "I know you will."
The Englishmen woke with a gasp, sweat coating his brow. He breathed deeply, realizing that it had only been just a dream.
While the vision of the sweet young child had been just a bittersweet memory, his subconscious had tainted it quickly. Not long into their conversion had it started to fade, the blue uniform and the boy in it growing. The long room washed with light from large windows and an antique mirror was replaced with dark grasses swaying in the wind, some of the tips dyed dark red.
Arthur had found himself on his back, holding an injury in his side. Dirt streaked and exhausted, the child he had raised stood over him with a long rifle pointed towards him, his chest heaving with each breath.
The blue uniform had become red in a way that England never wished, streaked with the colour from sources unknown or lost track of. Little boys grew into men, and dreams washed into nightmares of red.
