"… and Inquisitor?"
Lace felt her voice catch in her throat as she looked up into Agarwaenor's large, blue eyes. He paused, waving the others of his party forward. He gave her a questioning look, one brow arching up. She blinked, glancing over her shoulder from the corner of her eye. Toward the "elevator" they'd created to take the Inquisition down into the Deep Roads. Into the unknown.
She took a long, shaky breath, looking back up at the elf. "I, uh… be careful, please?" She shifted from one foot to the other, awkwardly rubbing at one shoulder. "I… I'm not sure I can bear the thought of losing you… especiallydown there."
Agarwaenor tipped his head sideways just a touch, the barest hints of a smile twinging his lips. He looked past her, toward his awaiting party members as they lingered by the elevator. Why he had to do this was still beyond him, yet here he was anyway. He sighed, eyes focusing back on Lace.
"I'd offer for you to join us, but… that elevator looks pretty shoddy." He choked on a laugh, grimacing.
Lace shook her head. "That's really not funny, Agar."
"I know…" He scratched behind one of his ears, shrugging.
Lace stared at him a moment longer before inhaling a sharp breath and snagging the front of his leathers. She tugged him down to her level into a strong, desperate kiss. The "come back to me" kiss, or even more accurately: the "please don't do anything stupid" type of kiss. He'd flailed his arms in surprise only a moment before sinking into the sensation and letting her control the moment.
They broke apart and she shoved him away roughly, pushing up against his chest. "Go. Now. Before I change my mind and haul your ass back to Skyhold." She joked, a bitter smile on her lips.
Lace turned around, facing the rest of the party as Agarwaenor shuffled over to join them. "I wouldn't stand too close to the edges, it's… ah, a long way down."
