Babe.
Hello! I decided to do this super short one shot, so hopefully, it's not too bad, I saw the prompt and immediately thought of Elizabeth and Henry.
Prompt - Person A casually calling Person B 'hon' or 'Sweetie' for the first time. (I'm using 'babe' for this story.)
-6 months into dating Henry comes up with a new nickname for Elizabeth.

Elizabeth stood in the kitchen of the apartment she shared with Henry. She'd only been living there a few months and was yet to unpack all her things. Henry had been so nice about it, telling her not to worry and to get to it when she wasn't studying or busy with other things. Which, at the time had made Elizabeth laugh, she was only ever studying.
Since moving in had been so hectic, and even now two months in, the pair were yet to spend one full evening together, with Elizabeth and her studies and Henry with his studies and part-time job, it was beginning to feel like they never saw each other, and Elizabeth hated it, she needed more than just sleeping next to each other in bed and quick morning kisses before they left the apartment.
Dinner.
She'd cook him dinner. Well, she would try and cook him dinner.
Pulling open various draws and cupboards she tried to find some sort of pan, and some food that would be easy enough for her to try. Pasta seemed like a safe idea, no one burnt pasta. Pulling out the pan, along with some other cooking utensils that she didn't know the name for she set about making some food and spending some time with the man she loved.
An hour later Henry walked in. Not only did he walk into a confused and panicked looking Elizabeth, he also walked into the smell of burning and his kitchen looking a mess. Dropping his bag to the floor he stood only for a moment to try and figure out just what was happening.
"Want some help over there?" He asked after a moment, trying not to laugh. Walking further over to where Elizabeth was standing.
"Henry, I am so sorry…" Was all that she said, as Henry took in what had happened, he let out a small laugh when he saw the burnt pasta and a sink full of used pans. Henry moved behind her to open the window, hoping the smoke would clear quickly so he could see the full extent of the damage.
"I wanted to make us dinner, and…" Well, she had failed, dramatically. It had not gone at all according to plan, and had left her in the middle of a kitchen, close to tears, trying to figure out, just how, she, an A* student managed to burn pasta.
"It's okay, you tried, babe," Henry said, still stood behind her, putting a hand on her waist.
"Really, Henry? I nearly burnt your kitchen and you're calling me babe?"
"Yes. You didn't nearly burn the kitchen, the pasta, on the other hand, I am not sure we can save that, but you tried, and that's all that matters." Elizabeth smiled, Henry seemed to make everything better.
"I love you…"
"I know, I love you too, babe," Henry said, before taking a deep breath.
"What do you say we still have a nice evening, order some take-out and deal with this later?" Elizabeth could not have been happier as she nodded, already opening the draw in which they kept the take-out menus.
A moment passed and Elizabeth turned around to face him, looking up at him with a smile.
"Are you going to keep calling me babe?"
"Do you like it?" Henry asked, already knowing the answer.
"Very much so…" Elizabeth told him, letting him wrap his arms around her fully.
"I really do love you, Henry."
"I love you too, babe, even if cooking isn't really your thing." Both of them couldn't help but laugh.
I hope this was an enjoyable read and it didn't suck! Let me know what you thought. Bethany.
