The mayor sat at his desk, looking over some papers.
He had a gut feeling someone or something was planning to attack the city very soon. . .
The mayor called Jane, his assistant into his office. "Jane, summon Wordgirl and Victoria Best here at once. I have a mission for them."
"Yes, sir," Jane replied, leaving his office.
He glanced back to the paper he was holding - it read,
"Victoria was once partnered with Wordgirl.
Despite their mutual dislike of each other, their teamwork was almost flawless, because they complemented each other's abilities extremely well."
"Hmm, they should do well on this mission, then," he thought.

"Sir, Victoria Best and Wordgirl are waiting outside. Shall I send them in?" Jane asked The mayor leaned back. "Yes, send them in."

"What is our mission?" Wordgirl asked slowly.
"It's a secret," he responded. "I can tell you very little about it."

"So, we're going on mission that we don't even know the purpose of?" Victoria piped up.

"You will leave the city and look for signs of the enemy. I know someone is there. I have a pretty good idea of who it is, too."

"Give us details of whom we're looking for," Wordgirl urged.

"You will meet a man whose power lies in his eyes," The mayor answered.

"OK, I will complete this mission easily and ensure Victoria makes it back safely," Wordgirl promised.

"Hey, you're the weakling, not me! I'm the BEST!" Victoria snapped.

Wordgirl narrowed her eyes. "Hn. Let's get going."
