Chapter 1
Eponine Thenardier was walking around the streets thinking if she should go back to her parent's home. No. Not after she warned Cosette about her father's gang. She had to find Marius, and fast. She walked into the ABC Cafe and spotted Gavroche who was talking up a storm to Les Amis'. Marius was sitting among them daydreaming about Cosette. Eponine grabbed him by the arm, feeling a spark of electricity shoot through her body from his touch.
"Monsieur, can we please talk in private?" She walked him into the other room.
"Marius, it's Cosette she's going away."
The only thing that came into Marius' mind at that moment was to find her.
Eponine already knew what he was thinking.
"Ponine, I must find her. I love her."
Eponine's heart broke for the second time that week. Once when "Marius, she's gone."Marius meet Cosette and when he told Eponine he loved that bourgeoise.
m in her arms. 'If only he knew'.
"Marius, we can't do anything." She was going to apologize but she wasn't sorry.
"Ponine, what am I going to do?"
'He needs to know!' Eponine's mind screamed.
Eponine did the one thing she's been wanting to do since she first met Marius. She kissed him, very softly on the lips.
Marius' was torn. The only thing Eponine could do was to hold hi
"Eponine, what are you doing?" Marius questioned.
Eponine looked into Marius' baby blue eyes, they looked concerned. Her own eyes started to tear up, but she was biting her lip to hold them back. She ran out of the cafe.
Marius was very concerned for his friend. He didn't know what has gotten into her. This whole week she seemed fine, being the same girl she was. Marius shrugged it.
Eponine ran into her room not caring if her father was waiting for her. She had to run away from everything. From Cosette, from Marius, from the Revolution. She dressed in her boy clothes and climbed out the window. She wrote a note the night before to give to Joly for Marius.
"Marius, here you go it's from Ponine."
Marius took it out of Joly's hand, and read the letter.
Dear Marius,
'I'm sorry to say this but I have left. I need to go away. Don't try to look for me. Tell Les Amis' I'll miss everyone there. Even Enjolras. I'll especially miss you Marius.
"And by the way Monsieur Marius, I believe I was a little bit in love with you."
Love your friend,
Ponine
