Jack in the Box
Batman followed the quickly retreating figure of the Joker. He knew Joker was up to something, otherwise he wouldn't have gone through so much trouble to lead him on. And he knew he was being led on. Even though the clown prince was so far away, his echoing maniacal laughter could still be heard. Batman growled, swinging and leaping alongside the buildings of Gotham, wondering just where the Joker was leading him.
Of course, Joker led him to an abandoned warehouse. And of course, a giant jack in the box waited for him inside. Joker pranced around the children's toy proudly. "Oh Batsy. Doesn't this just remind you of our first date?" in no time, Batman had joker pressed against the side of the box.
"What do you want Joker?!" he hissed. Joker gave him a grin, lifting a purple sleeve to check the time on numerous designer watches, though all of which had stopped ticking.
"You'll see in just a minute Batsy, Darling." Batman backed cautiously away from the joker and the jack in the box. There was a good number of things Joker could have rigged the box to do. The handle of the toy turned, music twinkling softly. There was a pause, and even Joker seemed to hold his breath. But when the jack popped out, it was innocently holding a big pink heart, and voice recording of Joker proudly proclaiming 'I love you' echoed through the empty warehouse.
The clown collapsed in a fit of giggles.
Batman raised an eyebrow. "Can't you think of normal ways to state your...affection?"
Joker looked up. "I like to think outside the jack in the box."
OWARI
