It had been a long day, and there was no doubt about it. The Lone Wanderer had spent that Saturday trying to retake Fairfax Ruins from some raiders. He had taken some hits during the fighting, but was patched up by a few Brotherhood Outcasts. He hadn't fully recovered, however. That was why he was headed to Rivet City. The Lone Wanderer had decided to head to his room at the Weatherly Hotel and get some rest, then get a check-up from his good friend Doctor Preston. As he passed by the familiar former raider hideout, the Lone Wanderer heard something that would change the tide of that day.

It was a shout for help.

The Lone Wanderer shouted back, "Hello?! Where are you?"

The only reply he got was a vague, "Up here!"

He was about to reply when he heard what he had dreaded journeying to Rivet City. Super Mutants. They were screaming at someone. The Lone Wanderer figured that it was the same person that had called for help. He ran towards where he thought the voice was coming from. As he was running, he came across what he was looking for.

Standing before him was a large Super Mutant outpost, boarded by junk walls and barbed wire. The Lone Wanderer jogged around the walls of the outpost, where eventually he found an opening. He pulled out his Chinese Assault Rifle and opened fire on the first Super Mutant Brute he saw. Eventually he realized that these 5 or so Super Mutants weren't going down without a fight. The Lone Wanderer knew he didn't have many options, since he had to secure the safety of the person calling for help. This meant explosives were out, but the Lone Wanderer had other plans.

Hidden behind some sandbags, he crawled over to where he saw the big tool he was looking for.

A Minigun.

Beside the big gun was some ammo. The Lone Wanderer quickly loaded it into the minigun, and opened fire on the remaining muties. They went down quick.

The Lone Wanderer jogged over to the side where saw a man tied up next to a campfire inside of a large and wide metal crate. He walked up to the captive and untied his bonds.

"You okay?" The Lone Wanderer asked the now freed prisoner.

"Y-yeah. Thanks for the rescue. I owe you my life," the former captive stuttered.

"No problem. What's your name?" The Lone Wanderer asked.

"P-pablo..." the man said.

"Okay Pablo, I'm gonna get you to shelter. Let's head to the city. There's one nearby, you know," The Lone Wanderer said.

The Lone Wanderer helped Pablo up and they walked together to the familiar city on a battleship. They passed by Carlos as The Lone Wanderer beckoned Harkness over the intercom to let out the bridge. As the bridge opened, Pablo coughed and asked the Lone Wanderer what his name was.

He was about to answer when Harkness shouted out, "Hello again! Brought a friend with you?"

"Uh, yeah. I rescued him from some Super Mutants' captivity. I'm gonna bring him up to the common room," the Lone Wanderer replied.

"All right, head on up," Harkness said.

The Lone Wanderer brought Pablo to the Midship Deck, where he showed the former captive to the common room.

"Okay, you can stay here for as long as you like. Rivet City's a nice place, safe from raiders and Super Mutants. Maybe you'll decide to stay, who knows. I know the traders down in the marketplace are always looking for new people to take caps from, ha!" The Lone Wanderer said to Pablo.

"Thanks, man. Again, I owe you one..." Pablo said.

"No problem, no problem. Here's something to help you out," The Lone Wanderer said, smiling and tossing 50 caps to Pablo.

"You're too kind. Thank you so much," Pablo said, pocketing the money.

"You're welcome. I'm gonna head to my room and get some rest. See you later," The Lone Wanderer said, leaving the room.

"See you..." Pablo mumbled.

Yep. It had been a long day, and there was no doubt about it.
