Loose Ends
(ItaNaru, shonen-ai hints, violence in small bits)
Their love was nothing like love. It was blood, rage and loathing until it bent the line so far there was no longer a line and only shattered boundaries that neither would ever reveal.
One was the bad guy, while the other was the hero. The one was the vanquisher while the other was a demon. Again, those lines blend and neither cared to mention a word because they – while one gradually, the other relatively swiftly – put together that if they did the line would form again and neither them nor the gods wanted that. The gods were nothing but evil demons, shells of angels that were pure but now tainted with lust, envy and gluttony for war.
The oldest – laudable bad guy; derisory vanquisher – knew this quite personally. He was a demon in an angel's body: intellectual, handsome, and always battle ready. He loved the smell of blood, the perfectness of how it flowed gradually out of the wounds he caused and back to the earth. He adored the copper smell of it as the wind picked it up and stuck it to the leaves and trees and farm lands where farmers could barely smell it over the muck.
The younger of the two – jovial hero; snarling demon – knew that something was different about the older man. The sinister smile from the gorgeous man surprised him when it grew slowly after a forceful fight, leading slowly to love making before collapsing into each other. The way the others eyes glittered like a child in a candy store on a half-off sale. He noticed, and how could he not, how his lover hurt him till he bleed only to carefully and lovingly clean the crimson liquid away with his tongue.
The lines were slowly blurring into nothingness, but only the blissful demon could not understand what that meant.
"Naruto, come here for a moment." Itachi sneered, but Naruto went over anyways; the blind leading the blind.
They stood among trees, overlooking a great river valley. The trees were hundred of years old, perceptible by their large size and the roots that unmitigated over miles. They had just started to walk away from the spot they had taken asylum for a moment when Itachi had turned to speak to the younger boy.
"Do me a favor would you?" Naruto nodded, obedient toy he was, "Would you do so much as go over to that cliff? I forgot my ring there when we were resting."
Naruto quickly rushed over, ignoring the itching of something not being right. Itachi was still sneering at him, like he always did when he was thinking thoughts of touching Naruto in any way.
"That's right, it should be right by the cliff."
Naruto nodded, moving slowly closer. Then suddenly a thought hit him as soon as he felt the shove on his lower back and a whisper of "see you at the bottom".
Itachi had never gone so close to the edge.
Finally, nonetheless, he had gone off the edge and the closing line had been broken and at last nothing was left of the barriers that once stood.
Loose Ends End.
