No one in the team wants to admit (even he, himself, hides it behind a toothy smile) that there's something about their former-captain, Kai, that attracts them unconsciously like moths to a flame. Whenever he enters a room, all eyes seem to automatically revert to Kai first, before straying to his companions, whoever they might be. Kai might as well wear a large tag around his neck with 'hey! Look at me!' painted in bright, red exaggerating colors. Which definitely comes out wrong in his mind). But Rei doubts the reasons can be summed up so easily.

It's either because of his unpredictable character or his overall appearance.

If it's not his determined eyes, it's probably his rich background. If it's not his cheek markings, it's his hair. If it's not his voice, it's probably his commanding charisma. Or maybe it's his beyblade--the ever-so-beautiful Phoenix of fire and rebirth.

Rei refuses to believe he's the only one reflecting on this almost unconscious action of admiring his former-captain. He has seen the way Max blush in awe, Takao twinkle with pride, Kyouju bite down his lip to hide a smile and Hiromi turn into a fangirl. Kai has most likely noticed the not-so-secretive hero-worship everyone unknowingly associate with him.

"You're forgetting something." Salima hits his arm gently.

Wha-?

Mao elbows him harshly in the ribs. "Don't pretend you aren't aware of it."

Huh?

"Oh shut up, Rei. You're the worst of the lot." says Mariam with a smirk playing upon her lips.

He blinks stupidly at them. And then realizes a lot of the beyblading females seem to like hanging out with -him-. So, he also has an irresistible charm.

"Oh! You're part of my fanbase too?" He wonders, amused.

Mariam scoffs. "You wish."

"She's in Max's fanbase." Salima informs him in a whisper.

Mariam coughs, looking away. "Look, the point is... you're worse than Takao and the others combined."

"And why is that?"

"Because you're so oblivious of your own actions to begin with."

Mao laughs when Rei gives her a blank look.

"You're all of them combined. You blush, you smile, you twinkle and turn into a fanboy yourself. It's no wonder Kai finds it amusing to appear before you a lot more than he does with the others." Mao explains between snickers and pats a very shocked Rei on his back.
