Can You Catch it?
(Written by Coraline Emberly [SYOT tribute created by WhispersofBliss])
You sat there across from me
And suddenly now you are beside me
We hold hands
But do you hold something more
Are you someone I can't hold a candle to
You
Me
We were all pawns in the Capitol's game
To play the unimportant roles
And to be left
There forgotten
Ruined
Into shards of
Nothing
And Despair
I smiled and waved at
The Capitol Crowd along with you
But I wished the train would run me
Over
And you with your
Broadening, wide smiles and
Fake laughs
That sound so real
They remind me of tinkling bells
During milking time
Back home
You tell the world we
Are a couple
And I don't know
You
But here you
Are the only one I can
Trust
And you gained us
Sponsors
To buy us life and
Time
That we ourselves
Cannot afford
Gong sounds
We start running, don't
Ever stop
We spill our secrets
To each other
And even give smiles
Are they real?
I don't know but
Jasper spills my blood
Vivid and red
Is that the color you see
As you and the wolf god save
Everything of me?
You fired the Careers (get it? Career got fired?)
And you left a small ember
Of revenge
They say it's best served cold
But your lips are warm
And only when I hear the sound of your
Heartbeat do I realize
I don't want you dead
Is that all or
Is there something
More to it
Ultimately
Only one can win
But you have already won
My Faith; still
I am not sure
About My Heart
It hangs on a thread
Above your palm
Can you catch it?
I don't usually write poetry like this so I apologize if it's horrifying. If you have any suggestions or constructive criticism, please review or PM me! I know it may take up a little bit of your time, but it would mean the world to me!
