Leona 'Leo' Martin is a lonely girl who likes to feed the neighbourhood cats. As kind as she is her life is hell. How will she fare after being shrunk to cat size? Will she be the first human Jellicle?

(Chapter 1: Shrunk)
Leo looked at the gray, cracked, moulding ceiling of her room. It was tiny, with just a mattress on the floor and a small drawer of clothes. She could feel the blood trickling from the gash on her head, down her neck. A slit of moonlight cut through the shadows like a hot knife through butter. She should be used to this by now. It wasn't the first time. She had been abused by her father since she was born after all.
She got up and left the room. She heard something behind her and turned to see a small black and white cat. "Hey, Misto. How'd you get in here." he looked at her. "Don't make a sound. I'm not staying here anymore."
She turned to face the door, but turned back to pick up Misto, to discover he was gone. She took the key from under the welcome mat and left the house. Her brown hair was still in a ponytail. She still had some of her uniform on. She had her simple shoes, black and red striped tights and a black skirt that stopped a little before her knees without looking dorky. She had a black, vampire bite zip-up hoody over her white polo shirt, but it was left un-zipped, showing the shirt and red, clip on tie. There where four different houses in the school, like in Hogwarts. There was Sapphire, Ruby, Topaz and Emerald, she was in Ruby. The blood that caked her hoody and face couldn't be seen in the darkness around her.
She walked for ages and didn't notice that she had walked right onto a road. She felt herself jerk and herself collide with metal.
Slowly she awoke. She didn't know where she was. Then she looked around, and saw that everything had gotten bigger! She saw something in the corner of her eye. Two shaded people… or at least they seemed to be people, where sneaking up on her, about to run and pounce on her like a cat hunting a mouse. Before she could even see them properly she bolted. She passed a fence that led to the local dump. One of the planks of wood was loose, so she could get through.
She ran through it, right into a person. She saw others, but never got to see them properly. There was such a mess, everyone was running around, causing her to be tripped and fall. Everything seemed to settle. She looked fearfully around at the people… hold on, they weren't people.
"What the?! Your cats!" She looked and recognised them. But they didn't look like cat's anymore. They where easier to tell them apart. They seemed to be standing and moving like normal people, yet with that natural elegance and grace that cats have. Before anyone could say another word, another cat ran in and tripped over her.
"Sorry, Sorry, are you alright." he apologised. Leo begin to smirk.
"Misto?" Misto stared in disbelief.
"Leona?"
"I'm shrunk!" The other cat's stared, confused. "Oh-no!"
