Sup. So, first of all, I don't own League of Legends, RIOT does.
Second, I only made this for fun. This inspired by one of my dreams, then I just wrote it down.
Also, I'm Asian, so please forgive grammatical and/or typographical errors, if there are any. I'm too lazy to fix them. (and I'm too lazy to continue some of my stories...)
You can criticize this if you want, I don't really care, cuz like I said, I only made this for fun.
Hate it? Then leave it.
If you like the story, hit that fave if you want to. Just to remind you, there are no follow ups on this story.
That's all. So I hope you enjoy this story based on my dream.
«NexusENGINE: Logging Out»
At a certain rice farm in Ionia...
A young man in a brown robe jumped out of his horse and entered the barn with a knock.
"Hello? Anyone here?" the man called. No one answered, he continued, "Uh, I came from Demacia and I'm here to pick up the twenty sacks of rice that we asked."
"Looks like you arrived earlier than I expected..." said a raspy voice behind
"Wha-" the man jumped in surprise. He then saw another man with a huge cloak that covers his entire body. Judging his appearance, he's tall, but somewhat skinny. Almost like a stick. Under the shadow of the hood, he could see two small green lights.
He sighed in relief, "Oh... Y-You almost shocked me, sir. Ehehe..."
The man with the cloak raised his hand, "Please, drop the 'sir'."
"O-Okay... Then what should I call you?"
He stopped for a moment and answered, "Fids... Just call me Fids."
The young man smiled and shook Fids' hand, "I'm Aldwin. Nice to meet you, S- I mean, Fids."
Fids nodded, "Likewise. The sacks are at the back. I have wheelbarrows. I'll help you out."
"Obliged."
LATER...
Aldwin huffed out and placed the last sack onto his cart and wiped his sweat.
"Is it the last one?" asked Fids
"Let's see...5...10...15...20! That's all. Thanks." Replied Aldwin, "I gotta say, these rice are of good quality. How much?"
"Two silvers a sack." Said Fids
Aldwin raised a brow, "Really? That's cheaper than I expected."
"I know. I only need the money to feed my crows."
"You own crows?" asked Aldwin
Fids shook his head, "They're all wild. They just happen to know me."
Aldwin mouthed a 'Wow', paid for the rice, and left with a goodbye.
LATER...
Inside Fids' barn, he flopped on a hay and removed his robe, revealing his true form.
His head is made of a sack with two holes with green lights and a huge tear at the bottom middle for his mouth with green like essence flowing out. His arms are made out of wood, and so is his legs. His torso composes of a simple old shirt with a red scarf and a rope tied around his wooden neck.
He is Fiddlesticks. The Harbinger of Doom. A living scarecrow.
Ever since he turned into this abomination, he was alone. That is until he met two certain people. One was a clown and the other was a shadowy creature. Together, they bring terror to people over the past years.
But...
"All things has an end, old friends...", whispered Fiddlesticks, staring at his sickle.
From the shadowy corner of the barn, a feminine figure took shape. She has fair white skin, jet black hair, pointy ears, golden eyes, and perfect curves. She wears a red kimono with separate white sleeves. Behind her, there are nine white tails.
Her name is Ahri. The Nine-Tailed Fox. She's been visiting Fiddlesticks for about a year now. For him, she's been a nuisance ever since. But he wonders why he still welcomes her to his barn.
"Fufufu~ Looks like you got yourself something else to lay your attention, huh?" said Ahri. "And I'm kind of surprised you didn't eat his soul."
Fiddlesticks looked over his shoulder on the other corner of the barn, not looking at Ahri. There lies a shovel planted on the dirt, which looks like it's been dug before.
"Don't get me started, Foxy." Spat Fiddlesticks.
"Tehehe, sorry about that, Fiddles." Replied Ahri
"I have a name, so don't call that crap." Hissed Fiddlesticks
"Well, I also have a name." Retorted Ahri.
Fiddlesticks didn't reply. He doesn't like to talk so much. Let alone to this girl; she was starting to be annoying.
Ahri sat beside Fiddlesticks and rested her head on her palms, she sighed, "So, rice farming, huh? It suits you."
Fiddlesticks scoots away a bit, "Why? Is it because I'm a scarecrow? Or is it because there's no other job better for me?"
Ahri pursed her lips and thinks, "Hmm... A little bit of both~"
"Wow. I'm touched." Replied Fiddlesticks with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. He stands and walks to a ladder and climbed up, "Just for you to know, this is merely something to keep me busy..."
Ahri didn't follow him upstairs. Because he told her that she's welcome to his barn as long as she likes, but do not go upstairs. But after all this time, she's been very curious about what he's doing up there.
'Hmm... Is he relieving himself?Ifso...'
Ahri smiled deviously, inside her mind, she's imagining herself stroking Fiddlesticks' long stick while he kept resisting saying that he wasn't even feeling good, and in the end, his essence would spurt onto her face.
She chuckles to herself and wiped the drool on her lips. Then, a thought came to her, "Does he even have one, to begin with?"
She shakes the thought off her head and began to leave the barn. As she got to the door, she looked behind and up.
"Fiddles, I'll be leaving now."
.
.
.
No answer.
"Aren't you going to see the lady off? How unchivalrous." She murmured.
After a few seconds of silence, she decided to leave.
As she strolls by fields, she began talking to herself. She sighed.
"Oh, Fiddlesticks. Why, oh, why did I even fall for you..."
For a about two years ago, during one of their battle in the League, Ahri and Fiddlesticks were the ones who are occupying mid lane. She noticed that something was troubling the scarecrow. Every time she was on low health and Fiddlesticks has the chance to get the kill, he lowers down his scythe and uses Terrify so that she could get away instead.
She thought he only does that because he fell for her, but seeing that he does that to every Champion he encounters in mid lane, it changed her mind. His KDA on that match was 0/2/29.
While their support, Amumu, who got 1/0/12, sulked after the match. Saying that Fiddlesticks was a better support instead of him.
Ever since then, Fiddlesticks declined every Summoner's request for him to be their Champion pick. And never again entered the Rift.
She didn't know why, but Ahri felt worried for the scarecrow. So, tried to find him and see if he was okay. But what she found out almost shocked her.
Helping the authorities catch criminals, assisting the elderly, warding off crows from rice fields and some occasional saving cats off trees. Those were done by Fiddlesticks. When he does these things, he always wears a cloak so that the people wouldn't get scared of him. He even tried joining the ranks of the Demacian soldiers, but they didn't approve of him for reasons only he knows.
From a killer to a so-so pacifist. He wanted to change people's perspective about him. As for Ahri? That's what she finds admirable about him.
Her ears perked up when she suddenly heard an explosion from afar. She looked at the direction where it came from. When she knew where it is, her gaped from shock. She ran towards the direction, shouting his name inside her head, worried.
'Fiddlesticks! Please, be safe!'
When she arrived at Fiddlesticks' barn, she noticed a huge hole on the roof, the wood were still sizzling.
She tries to pick up his scent, which lead her to the fields, and found him lying on the muddy soil.
She touched the fabric of his face and called his name.
"Fiddlesticks! Fiddlesticks! Wake up!"
No answer. She noticed that his crows were circling them, some are just staring at them, cawing.
"Fiddlesticks! Come on, you can't just leave me here! I have nowhere else to go!"
Still no answer. She lies her head on his chest, tears started crawling down from her eyes.
"Please... I need you... Don't leave me... Fiddlesticks..."
As she was letting her emotions flow, she heard a small chuckle and felt something pat her head.
She looks up and locked gazes with the scarecrow.
"Heh, 'bout time you call me by my name."
She sniffles and wipes her tears. "T-That is not a good joke! You made me worried!"
The scarecrow stands up and groans.
"W-Where are you going?"
"Back to my barn..."
Ahri stands up and followed Fiddlesticks. She grabbed him by his arm. He stopped.
"The explosion... What was it?" she asked
Fiddlesticks sighed and turned to Ahri. "You really wanna know?"
She let go of her grip from him. His face looks like he is about to say something really serious. Ahri wasn't prepared. But she'll do anything to help her friend. She nodded.
Fiddlesticks looked at Ahri's eyes. "I'm creating a spell...to go back to being human again."
Ahri stood speechless. A spell to turn him back into a human? He must have taken a lot of time to practice this. And that would mean Fiddlesticks must be very knowledgeable about the arcane magic. Something that made Ahri like him more.
"Wait... Turn back?" she asked
Fiddlesticks looked over his shoulder, "What? You thought I was just a mere scarecrow who were brought to life?"
Ahri slowly nods
He scoffs, "Heh, that's where you're wrong kiddo."
"Don't tell me... You're doing it again..." she said
Fiddlesticks kept walking, "I am..."
"Why?"
Fiddlesticks halted and stood still. Ahri noticed his hands were shaking.
"Uh... S-Sorry I asked-"
"My barn..." he said
"Eh?"
"Come to my barn... I'll tell you why..."
She hesitated at first, but she went to his barn, nevertheless.
They both sat on the hay that Fiddlesticks always sleeps in.
Ahri was tense due to the atmosphere, she couldn't say a word. Fiddlesticks broke the silence.
"Did they ever told you why I left the Rift?" he asked
"Eh? They? Oh, you mean Shaco and Nocturne? Well... Not really." She replied.
Fiddlesticks nods, "Right... I knew I could trust them." He glanced at Ahri and sighed, "Your're scared..."
Ahri became shocked and fidgets, "What?! No! Of course, not! Why would I!?"
"Because I can feel them." He said
Ahri chuckles nervously, "O-Oh. Ehehe~ Right..."
"And... I can also feel mine..."
"What do you mean?"
Fiddlesticks took a deep breath and explained to the fox girl.
"I felt it a few years ago. It all began when Nocturne used Unspeakable Horror on me as a joke. But instead of making me laugh, it made me scared. I actually saw an unspeakable horror..." just telling this story made him cower in fear. His hands shaking, knees trembling, even his voice seems to be breaking.
Without thinking, Ahri hugged him. Comforting the scarecrow.
"There, there... It's okay Fiddles. It's okay to be scared."
Fiddlesticks continued, "Ever since then... I woke up... Feeling that someone was watching me... Then I realized that all the people I killed were haunting me... All of their grieves... Their blames... They're all pointing to me..."
"So, that's the reason why you left the Rift and the League?" asked Ahri
Fiddlesticks slowly nods. He then came to a realization that Ahri was hugging him. He stood up, breaking from the hug.
"Please don't do that. You're embarrassing me."
Ahri grinned, "Oh~ well, that's just cute~."
"Please, just don- HURGK!"
A shock went through his back and made him fell on his knees.
"Fiddlesticks! Are you alright?!"
He wheezes as he leans on the wall. He touched his back and felt a bit more shock.
"Urgk!"
"Whoa, are you in pain?" asked Ahri.
Fiddlesticks groaned, "Haa... I... It kinda hurts... This probably when I fell on the ground when the explosion happe... Wait..."
Ahri became more concered, "What is it?"
He mumbles, "Hurts? Embarrassed?"
"What are you talking about?"
He continued, "Pain... Emotions..."
He thinks for a few seconds, then the answer hit him.
"It works..."
Ahri raised a brow, "Works? What works?"
"My spell... It works!"
Ahri scanned him from head to toe and sees no change.
"Look, my spell works, it just doesn't work right." He explained.
"So, what you're saying is, it didn't make you turn back into a human, but it gave you sense of pain and a few emotions?" said Ahri.
Fiddlesticks stares at her and smiles. She blushed.
"W-What is it?"
"Nothing. I was thinking that you're actually smart." He said
Ahri turns away as her blush went redder. "O-Of course I am!"
"Well, in that case..." Fiddlesticks held Ahri's hands. Smokes, coming on top of her head.
"W-W-What izzit!?"
"Help me fix my spell. Please."
Ahri smiled, "Of course. Under one condition!
"Which is?"
"C-Can I be the first one to see your human form?"
Fiddlesticks smiled, "Alright. It's a deal. Come. Let's go find the ingredients I'll need."
And so, Fiddlesticks and Ahri went off from Ionia to Piltover for the ingredients he needed. During their journey, Fiddlesticks felt an emotion he has once forgotten.
"Hmm... Now that I've think about it... Ahri seems... Beautiful... I guess? Is this..."
