Adventures of Julie Hathaway
Our Hometown
Chapter 1: Let's Go to Kumamoto!
Spring has finally settled in Springdale 2 weeks ago and it continues its work throughout the city. The sun continues to shine brightly. The air is warm but still cool enough. The flowers continue to bloom all around as the pink cherry blossom petals flutter in the breeze.
At the same time, in the Hathaway residence, Julie, Finkell, Dollface, and Racinyan are watching an update on TV.
"And now our group will be holding a festival in Kumamoto tomorrow afternoon to help raise money for the continuation of repairs during the earthquake 3 years ago and to celebrate our idol group's 8th anniversary. There will be games, music, and a concert where you will see us sing sixteen of our signature songs: Hajimemashite, Calorie Nante, Sakura-kajistsu, Sakura monogatari, Shiawase no Energy, Matsuri no Yoru~kimi wo suki ni natta hi~, Chime ga Owareba, Natsukoi, Uessai! Gessai!, V to Road, Hare Hare Parade, Supreme~addition of subtraction~, Furusato Japon, Makenaizo, Treasure, and Shitsuren Photograph," the leader of LinQ, Amano Natsu, announced to everyone watching, including Julie and her Yo-Kai pals.
"Isn't this great? LinQ, my favorite girl band, will be holding a festival tomorrow afternoon!" Julie exclaimed in excitement.
"And why is that a big deal to you?" a deadpanned Racinyan asked.
"My dad, my classmates, Mr. Johnson, and I are planning to visit Kumamoto since my dad's business company is associated with the ongoing repairs to the damage caused by the earthquake 2 years ago. And when I heard LinQ will be there, I wanted to see them at tomorrow's benefit festival. And maybe I'll even get to perform with them onstage!" Julie said before sighing in content.
"Wow, I thought Jibanyan is the only big fan of a girl band," Finkell remarked.
"Ditto," Dollface agreed.
The next day…
Julie, her dad, Mr. Johnson and her classmates are now ready to head to Kumamoto. They all boarded a train to get there. The ride took almost 2 hours so the children decided to entertain themselves by playing games, eating, reading, talking, and listening to music.
"Hey, Julie. You seem so excited about the trip today," Katie said as she approached Julie.
"Am I ever?" Julie retorted playfully. "I'm really looking forward to that benefit concert."
"Wait. You mean LinQ?" Nate was surprised at that.
"Yeah! I'm a big fan of theirs. I really liked their songs starting from their debut."
"Really? I'm a fan of LinQ, too!" Katie said.
"So are Bear, Nate, and me," Eddie added.
"No way! I thought I was the only one," Julie replied.
Upon arrival at their destination, Mr. Hathaway, Mr. Johnson, and Class 5-2 were marvelled at the city of Kumamoto, the bustling streets, the local food stands, and of course the Kumamoto Castle not far from the city.
Every one of them then arrived at the festival and noticed that there are many people there, too.
Just then, Julie noticed something running behind her. She turned around and shined her Yo-Kai Watch around. But she found nothing and turned off her watch.
"Hmm... probably just my imagination," she said as she started exploring the festival with her friends and teacher while her father headed to the buildings that are still under repairs.
Author's Note: Sorry about the long wait, everybody. I'm just really busy with college life, and mind you, it's really hard. Anyway, here's the first chapter on my special Yo-Kai Watch story. It's a commemoration of the 8th anniversary of LinQ's debut and 3rd anniversay of the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake. Additionally, decode9 and I had a talk in the past several months about each student from Class 5-2 having one LinQ counterpart or two and here is the list:

Of course, in this story, I pretended that LinQ is still a 30+-member group since I was very upset that many of my favorite members left the group last August 2017 and March 2018 and I'm still upset even after Ando Chisa's graduation on May and Kohinata Maina and Asaka Sakai's graduation tour on June were announced during their 8th anniversary concert. Also, I'm still thinking of senbatsus (selected LinQ members and Class 5-2 students) to sing the above mentioned songs (with the exception of Furusato Japon, Treasure, and Shitsuren Photograph, in which there are already LinQ senbatsus, as well as Hajimemashite and Calorie Nante, in which the performers are all LinQ members and Class 5-2, respectively).
