Hi! So here is another Doctor Blake Mysteries fanfic so I hope you enjoy it! Did everyone see the finale? I hope they do make series 5, just to see the aftermath of everything that has happened.
Disclaimer: I do not own Doctor Blake Mysteries or any of it's characters.
She sat in the passenger seat of the blue car. Bags sat neatly in the back, waiting to be collected so she can begin her journey. He stood next to the car after saying his goodbyes. They were probably never going to cross paths again, their thoughts might cross over the seas that would separate them and wonder how the other was doing but not talk face to face again.
As the car rumbled to life, he step back ever so slightly to make sure he didn't get injured or killed much to the disappointed of most of the population that inhabited Ballarat. Most people wanted to take a swing at him for bringing the past to the surface, bringing their fears out of the shadows and exposing the guilty.
The blue car slowly drove out of the driveway that had led her to the door of his home on that night. When the smile dropped of his face quicker than you could say 'whiskey'. Then that women walked into the hallway calling out his name. She remembered thinking 'so the rumors were true?'
Jean had not given her the cold shoulder, she made sure she was comfortable and always had some food or tea to eat.
But the nightmare was over, no longer was she living in fear. All that was over and she was determined the start over. She would treasure her time with Lucien but would look forward the future and not fall behind. She realise now you can't jump back into the past and hope it will play out the way you hope. The only thing you can do is jump into the future with open arms.
The scars on her back will heal and so will the scars in her mind but will be ever present to remind her what she had came from and that it always get better, no matter what. Yes, those lines that hold so much pain will disappear until they are a flicker of a memory.
Looking in the rear-view mirror attached to the side of the car so saw Lucien and Jean moved slowly towards each to embrace, she smiled to herself. Time to move on as she said and she is glad after all this time Lucien has a chance to be happy without the sorrow of a 'dead' wife. No she was not dead but they will part ways.
As the car drove onto the main road she looked sideways to her importu driver and smiled when he looked at her from the corner of his eye. Frank, she believed his name was. Houses, trees, people and lives passed her as they drove on. Lives that she would have no impact on and for that she was glad. She hated causing a fuss on her own accord and if she could go back to living a simple life again she would be contempt.
The car drove on and so did her life. She would keep moving forward, only looking back on the happy times but not living in their shadows. Once she had reached her destination she looked back on Australia and nodded, saying a silent thank you and goodbye before boarding.
Thank you for giving me a chance to move on with my life, bring me out of pool of fears and goodbye.
There you go! Please review to let me know what you think!
