Elemental Natures

It was a slow, hot day on the reserve. The summer sky was clear and bright, a very unusual state, as it looked over the beaches of La Push. Seth stretched his very long arms above his head, stretching his bare torso while ignoring the many admiring looks shot his way by girls walking by.
It's not that they weren't beautiful, and indeed some of them were utterly gorgeous (total Eye-candy), just that the werewolf had seen far too many good relationships go bad when someone impressed. Why waste time on normal girls when, somewhere… Out there…. Was your soul mate?
His man Jacob had been agonizing over his love for Bella for like a year before she finally crossed that final line to become a vampire. It's kinda hard to love someone whose smell makes you want to rip their throat out.
Although him and bells are still real close, (just not kissing close). Even I seem to have gained a place in the previously despised world of the vampires. That could be because I'm just so "sweet and loveable", but I think it's because of the little girl who dared to categorize me as such.
Nessie. Or Renesmee, as those in the company of her mother, Bella, call her.
The light of the Cullen family's life; and the love of Jacob's. I'm sure that if Jake hadn't impressed on Bella's daughter he would be even now be hunting down vampires as vengeance for his fallen lover, Taken from him by their deadly bite.
Speaking of the little rascal today was her 4th birthday. I celebrated with her and her family this morning, but chose to opt. out of the big hunt. One of her b-day presents was that the Cullen's took her a whole day run away to hunt an over-population of predators to the northeast. Grizzly was never really my thing, I prefer good old fashioned pizza, hot-dogs, and a jumbo basket of fries.
Jake went with them, Of Course. He can barely stand to be parted from her; I think he eats more often in wolf form that human these days. Him and Nessie are always playing around and competing. She does a lot better lately, just pulling out of a slightly gawky phase (never say this in front of Jake on pain of death). She looks about 15 now, and is as Gorgeous as her parents.
I talk to her dad a lot, we really seem to get along, and Edward uses me as a way to express his frustration. Frustration towards the mischief he calls a daughter. Frustration towards the woman he calls his wife, whose tendencies to protect her young are getting in the way. Frustrations toward a certain cur, (his words, Not Mine!), who is always around and apparently Very annoying.
Personally I think that it has a lot to do with him and Bella not wanting to see their "baby Girl" grow up and fall in love.
I can't help Jake.
The poor, poor guy.
He gets pressure from his pack, the Bloodsuckers, and now Nessie. The little half vamp is growing up fast, and even if she might still be 3 whole years from complete adulthood, she's growing up.
She is really becoming a beautiful young lady, and she has wants just like any young teen.
I simply hope that they can survive her parent's wrath.
I know Jake will just do whatever she asks, and not just because he impressed on her. That little thing has him completely wrapped around her tiny finger. I don't think he could even………..
Suddenly a howl cut through my thoughts, lifted up from the trees. It spoke of anguish, and battle. I jumped to my feet, rushing towards the tree line, and cover for the change.
