A/N: I know it's been a while since I've written anything but this has been on my mind ever since watching the movie for like the millionth time and I like this idea of an ending.

Disclaimer: I own nothing FFVII, but I did write this poem one day (the words in italics).

All That Glitters

By MakoRain

In the aftermath of it all, she shined.

Everything else was dull in comparison. It may have been the kids splashing water adding to the effect of the sunlight spilling through the broken church roof basking her in its light. Whatever it was, she sparkled like a million stars in the night sky.

All that shimmers in this world is sure to fade.

She defied that, showing anything was possible.

All that glitters is not gold.

He had always preferred silver anyways, so pure and smooth, like her wolf ring that matched the stud in his left ear catching in the sunlight.

All of the beauty in this world can be unmade.

The rubble of the church surprisingly held up even through that last battle with Kadaj and stood around the rowdy bunch but Cloud could have cared less; he only had eyes for her.

All too far away to hold.

Looking at her wasn't enough, she wasn't that far away. A few strides through the water and he was right in front of her, his image reflected in her widening eyes. Reaching out a hand to her he felt hers slide into his and wrapped around his fingers, holding back tightly as he pulled her into the water with him. Her giggle broadened his smile and their eyes met, the sounds of those around them nonexistent while her warm hazel eyes pulled him closer, their lips a breadth apart before time seemed to stop, freezing them in place.

Beauty in this world unmade….too far away to hold.

Why was this happening? His mind should be urging him on with his decision to finally show her how he felt and not lace his mind with self doubt. Those burdens went away when he saw Zack and Aerith walk away into the light, letting him know everything was alright. And it was.

Tifa's face was puzzled, eyes searching those mako enhanced orbs that pulled her in whenever she looked directly into them and she felt it now. His mind was so confused but then the haze was gone and his lips were on hers, kissing her softly and oh so sweet to taste. His lips smiled on hers, deepening the kiss with his tongue entering her mouth and tasting the rain and lilacs of her, touching the love that was rising for him in her. When they parted, she was practically glowing, more so than before and he was sure he was too.

Their peripheral vision soon returned and now the gang on the deck was bouncing with their team members, cheering more than ever for the love that had finally come to pass between the two long time friends. Cloud smiled genuinely and knew that with Tifa by his side, he wasn't alone and never would be, not any more.

As it was meant to be.

I'm not really sure how I feel about this oneshot but felt like posting it anyway. Let me know what you think please :)
