Disclaimer: I own nothing.....how depressing.

Shawn couldn't believe his eyes, or his ears. He was fairly certain that his nose was still trustworthy, but his mouth certainly was not cooperating at the moment.

In fact it know was wide open, slack-jawed in disbelief.

There was Juliet in white, holding a bouquet, veil over her face, something borrowed, something blue, the whole shebang.

And there was Gus facing her, wearing a tuxedo, saying his vows. To Juliet.

His Juliet.

And even more appalling, was the fact that Lassie was the best man!!

He wanted to yell, to scream, to do something, anything. But when he opened his mouth all that came out was silence.

He started panicking.

His best friend was marrying the love of his life, he was mute, and Gus didn't ask him to be the best man!

"It doesn't matter what you do, Shawn." said a familiar voice.

Shawn looked around for the source and his eyes stopped beside him.

Henry returned his gaze with an indifferent glance before finishing, "She'll never love you. No one will.".

Shawn jerked awake, and struggled desperately against the arms that held him.

"Take it easy, son. You're okay." His father chided.

Shawn calmed a little, and allowed Henry to push him back flat onto the cushions of the couch.

"You're okay." Henry repeated, and put the back of his hand to Shawn's forehead, "I think your fever's gone up again.".

Shawn looked around and noticed that he in fact, was not in his apartment. His father, sensing his confusion added, "Relax, you're on my couch.".

Shawn forehead crinkled at this.

"Why 'm I 'ere?" Shawn asked, wincing at the pain in his raw throat.

Henry chuckled, "Gus found you in your apartment. You were running a pretty high fever, so he brought you over here. He stayed as long as he could, but he had to go to work.".

Shawn huffed, " I c'n 'ake care of m'self.".

His father stayed silent for a moment before replying, "When Gus brought you here, you were in pretty bad shape. We almost took you to the hospital multiple times. But you wouldn't let us.".

Shawn's forehead crinkled once again at that, "I don't 'member that.".

"You've been pretty out of it for the past few days." Henry said as he brushed Shawn's sweaty hair off his forehead, and let his hand rest on his shoulder.

"Get some sleep." He said finally, patting his son's shoulder before exiting the room.

Shawn shut his eyes as those words ran through his mind over and over.

"She'll never love you. No one will."
