The Autumn leaves on the trees rustled in the crisp breeze before falling to the ground in a swirl of red, yellow and orange. Double D walked slowly through the quiet street taking in the sight.
'Such a perfect Autumn day, truly this is nature at its most magnificent stage' he thought as he listened to the crunching of leaves beneath his feet, he let out a contented sigh. Before he knew it, he found himself standing in the playground. Playful sgouts and laughter reached his earsas his peaceful journey came to an end.
"Hurry up Jimmy, before someone else beats us to the swings!" Sarah yelled racing past Double D, no one seemed to notice his presence, he didn't mind he was happy to observe. A chilly wind brushed against him, causing him to pull his orange jacket closer to his body, still he looked on.
Kevin rode by using only his back tire seemingly effortlessly as Double D noted. an obvious effort to gain the attention of Nazz, who currently stood by the large tree speaking to Rolf. Though Edd could not hear their words, he noticed the wide smiles on their faces.
Jonny, in full captain melonhead uniform, paraded around the area keeping watch over the Peach Creek children, splinter at his side. The scene before him brought a smile to his face and he softly shook his head in amusement.
"Such a life we live in our little town, though not always peaceful or harmonious, it's ours. I wouldn't trade it for the world" he said to himself.
"Where ya been Sockhead, you're late." Eddy grumbled.
"Naughty, naughty Double D, do you know how long we have been waiting?" Double D chuckled.
"I'm sorry gentlemen, I was lost in thought and hadn't realized-"
" Yeah well, quit your daydreamin' an' get oer here we got work to do. Eddy walked away from the group leading Ed and Double D to a small wooded area.
"Of course Eddy, I can't wait to hear your brilliant plan this time." the hint of sarcasm was lost to Eddy as they gathered closely to hear the new scam.
