Kakashi And His Pet Something
A dirty white cat was wandering the streets at night. It slunk down one alley after another looking for someone who would not mind having just a small, odd looking cat in his home.
Finally, the cat found a house that looked as though the owner would take him in. It was old and broken down, but it had that lived-in look that homes have. It was painted light purple and blue, and it was altogether strange looking.
The small cat went up to the door and started to meow. It took a while for anyone to come to the door, but finally a tall man came into the foyer, yawning. The man turned on the light, and looked out on his front porch. With the light now on, the cat could see a sign on the door. It spelled K-a-k-a-s-h-i. The cat wondered what that meant.
The tall man opened the door. He noticed the cat, and quickly put out his hand for the cat to sniff. The cat ignored the hand, and simply walked straight into the house. The man chuckled, shrugged, and followed the cat inside. He caught up with the cat, who was looking for some food. He laughed when he noticed this, and he set out some table scraps for the cat. It set upon the food as though it had not eaten for a million years.
"Hey thing," the man said to the cat "My name's Kakashi. What should your name be? More importantly, what are you?" He paused. Suddenly, he spoke again. "Well, you are something, aren't you? Something...something...Something! That will be your name! Something!"
Something left off of his food to glare reproachfully at Kakashi. Then, an amazing thing happened. Something started to speak.
"Hey, Kakashi is it? What kind of name is Something for a cat like me?" Something said. Kakashi nearly fell out of his chair.
"Y-Y-You can talk?!" He yelped.
"Of course I can. What do you think, I'm some pea-brained cat? Idiot." Something muttered. Kakashi did not reply. He wondered why this could possibly be happening to him, of all people. Finally, he made a decision.
"Well if you're going to be my cat," he began, "You're going to have to look like a cat. Come here. I'm going to groom you." Kakashi declared. Something glared at Kakashi, thought for a moment, then reluctantly plopped himself down in front of Kakashi.
Kakashi took an old contorted comb out of a drawer. He stared at it disbelievingly. "I thought there was a better brush than this!" Kakashi exclaimed. Something purred. The Kakashi man was pretty funny. I might keep him, thought Something.
That was just a cute oneshot about Kakashi's pet that appears in my Generation... III story about the Naruto characters.
