Gil Grissom sat at his dinning room table working on an advanced crossword puzzle, and though most of the answers came to him easily, he found himself thinking a lot after each question.
It wasn't about the crossword puzzle though, Terry Miller had just told him that she got married. Gil knew it shouldn't bother him, but it did. It seemed in the last few years, he thought there were three women he had chemistry with, and possibly a fourth, and instead of trying to see where things would lead, he never actually figured out how he felt about each of them.
It always seemed weird to him to try to work on feelings for a woman that happened over something at work, or at work. He wondered though, if he had been mistaken in that idea though.
Maybe it was too late for anything romantic to happen in his life.
Gil had spent so much time putting work before anything personal, he had started to realize other than work really there was nothing to define him as a person to someone. He had been mistaken at one time in thinking that even though he and Terry lived far apart, maybe they could maintain a relationship. Now she was off the market, and it felt sad, but in a way a bit of a relief. And then Sophia had moved to Colorado, so he didn't have to deal with her feelings for him.
Now that only left the debate in his mind on whether he should even try to figure out his feelings for Sara and Heather. Should he ignore the chemistry, or try to start a relationship with one. But which one? Did he really have feelings for either one, or was it due to the fact that they seemed to have feelings for him that he even thought about this now.
His phone rang, and his conundrum was put on the back burner like it usually was, once he realized that he was needed at work.
