A/N: I know I'm supposed to be updating 'I'll See You Again' and I do have the next chapter on my pc but this idea was circling around Tumblr and I couldn't resist. Just a short Percebeth.
"Hey Wise girl."
Annabeth sighed and looked up from her book to stare at the dark haired, 28 year old man sitting on the other side of the couch with his legs next to hers. Percy was casually flicking through the channels on the TV and running his hand through his dark hair.
"What is it? Can't you see I'm reading?"
"I was just thinking…about something…"
"That's dangerous." She scoffed, returning to her story.
"I don't like your name."
Shocked, the blonde snapped her book shut and stared blankly at the smirking young man. His sea green eyes were sparkling in a playful way.
"Excuse me?"
"Your name. I don't like it."
"What do you mean you don't like my name?!" She was getting pissed now. What exactly was his deal here?
Percy went on like normal,
"Particularly your last name. I'm not very fond of 'Annabeth Chase'. I think you should change it."
"Oh? And what exactly would you have me change it to?" She was about ready to throw the book at him now. For interrupting her story and being an idiot seaweed brain.
"I dunno, I just think that maybe, 'Annabeth Jackson' would be a better fit." He was grinning cheekily now. Annabeth couldn't fight the fresh blush appearing on her cheek.
Oh.
This time she did throw the book at him. It hit the arrogant man squarely in the chest.
"Ow! Hey! A simple 'no' would suffice!"
"Was that your idea of a proposal?!"
"Well, I mean I have a ring in my back pocket. I figured you'd lash out at me like this…" He brought out a little black box and got ready to kneel on the floor.
"Percy, you…you…" She tried to threaten him, tease him, call him an idiot or seaweed brain or something, but instead she was smiling unconditionally. Out of nowhere she found herself wrapping her arms around her boyfriend and kissing him.
"So that's a yes?"
"Duh." She replied, and then a thought. "But don't just assume I'll change my name."
A/N: I don't like the ending but I would love to be proposed to like this. This immedietaly became a headcanon of mine once I saw it.
R&R?
