The Attack
Remus ambled back through the tropical forest and to the sleeping Nymphadora Tonks. They had been out here for the last few days searching for a prolific Death Eater who was rumoured to be hiding out in the area and doing some recruitment for Voldemort.
As he turned the corner, he saw a dark shadowing figure looming over the sleeping woman who he dearly loved but couldn't bear to be with for fear of ruining her life. Its black cape rippled lightly in the wind, and Remus was suddenly paralysed with terror. His feet wouldn't move, and as much as he willed his hand to reach for his wand in his pocket it just wouldn't move.
The creature lowered itself further onto Tonks, and pressed itself onto her body and slowly began to suffocate the sleeping angel.
Remus had only read about this kind of thing in a book and it was many years ago; he recalled reading about this one wizard called Falvius Belby who had been attacked by a creature very similar to the one he was looking at now, named a Lethifold, and that he had managed to survive because he had cast the Patronus Charm.
Remus knew he had to attack now otherwise he was going to lose the love of his life forever.
He flexed his fingers and grabbed his wand, "Expecto Patronum," he cried, sending the Lethifold scurrying away from the now shaking body of Tonks whose hair had turned white with fear.
He crouched down beside Tonks and enveloped her in his arms and kissed her on the forehead."I'm done trying to fight this. I almost lost you just now and that would have been a fate worse than death. Marry me Dora?"
She looked up at Remus wide eyed, tears streaking down her face and sobbed, "Okay."
