Christopher Halliwell walked down the hallway of the small apartment. He was just about to go back to his room when he noticed a light coming from the kitchen. He walked into the kitchen to find his father sitting at the table with tears falling down his face. A tear fell off of his face and onto the blue checkered tablecloth. During his 12 years of life Chris had never once seen his father cry. He carefully walked over and took the seat next to his father. He put his small hand over his father's much larger hand. Leo seemed startled and jumped back causing his chair to fall to the floor. "I didn't see you, Chris. What are you still doing up at this time?" he asked wiping away his tears. Chris ran a hand through his dark brown hair.

"I had to use the bathroom," he explained, as his heart ached to know what could bring his father to such an emotional state. Chris was cut off by the ringing of the phone. When his father went to answer the phone Chris noticed a small faded photograph and quickly grabbed it and ran to his room. Once he was in the freedom his room and could hear his brother Wyatt snoring on the bed next to him he turned the picture over and felt a sharp pain go though him. Chris saw himself being held by a woman, he couldn't have been more than a couple hours old in the picture. He felt someone standing over him and looked up to see his father. "Dad, who is that woman holding me?" he asked placing the photo in his father's hands. Leo sighed, he had known this day would come and was surprised it hadn't happened sooner.

"That was your mother," he said, referring to Piper in the past tense.

"Did she die?" Chris asked his voice cracking. Leo motioned for him to come into his bedroom so they wouldn't wake Wyatt. They walked into a room which was very simple, containing only a bed, a desk, and a dresser.

"She passed a couple of hours after you were born, due to complications of the caesarean section," the tears were once again falling down Leo's face which had aged quite a bit in a short period of time. Chris found himself speechless for the first time ever. When he was younger and asked why he didn't have a mother his father had explained that all families are different. He had a brother, a father, a grandfather and two very loving aunts. Chris had been very young at the time and had accepted that explanation, at least he had until this very night.
