Remus Lupin was a smart boy. He always loved staying at the library, reading or studying. Sometimes, the Slytherins called him a nerd, but his friends where always there to make them close their mouths. Or to injure them.
This day, Remus was at the library doing his homework when he heard a deep breath next to him. He turned to see Sirius with a big smile in his face.
-Padfoot, what are you doing here? I through that you were allergic to books.
-You know that it isn't true. Just because I prefer doing jokes it doesn't mean that I don't like reading.
-Yeah...
-Well, shut up Moony! Now I'm not here for the books! I was bored and I decided to come here with you.
-The amazing and cool Sirius Black, going to the library because he's bored? Aren't there some Slytherins to make suffer out there?
-If you don't want my company just say!
-No, it's ok. Sit here -said Remus pointing a chair next to him.
Remus tried to keep studying but it was impossible with Sirius next to him. He was staring at him with his blue eyes and that desconcentrated Remus.
-Can you stop watching me like that, please?
-Like what? You're so cute.
"Wait, did I say that?" thought Sirius.
-Thanks -said Remus smiling- but you wouldn't say that.
-Why not? I mean, you are so cute.
-A girl could hear you. And you don't want them to think that the big and incredible Sirius Black is gay, do you?
-Oh, yeah -said Sirius, with a thoughtful expression- But if, and notice I said if, I was gay, you wouldn't bully me or think that I'm strange, would you?
-Of course not! -screamed Remus- But you're not gay.
-It's nice to hear that, 'cause actually I am.
Remus looked surprised.
-Really? And all those girls? Those who you used to sleep with?
-It was a lie. To hide the truth.
-But does James know?
-Of course he doesn't! He would make fun of me!
-He wouldn't Sirius, he's your best friend. So, why are you telling me?
-Well, there is something I want you to know...
Remus was trying to convince himself that it was his imagination and Sirius wasn't going to confess him that he liked him.
-Go on, Padfoot! I don't have all the day!
-Well, but please don't be angry with me.
-Why would I do that?
-Because I'm gay and I love you.
Remus was wondering about what Sirius said. "It can't be" he thought.
-I knew! I knew! You're angry! I told you! -screamed Sirius hiding his face.
-I'm not angry! I'm just... surprised. How long?
-I think always. But I knew when we where in fourth grade.
-So three years ago? Why didn't you tell me before?
-I was scared. I thought that you would never talk to me again.
-You know that I would never do that! But why now?
-It's our last year, and I thought that it was one of my last opportunities. The last week James started dating Lily and he asked me if I ever loved someone. I told him that of course I did. And he asked me why I never fought for that love. This made me think about telling you.
There was a strange silence after Sirius' speech. Sirius broke it again.
-Please talk to me! Say me something!
-First: How dare you lie to all this girls when you're gay? Second: Why didn't you tell us before? We, the marauders, are your friends! And third and last: I love you too.
Sirius didn't understand it at first, but then he realised.
-Moony... You said... you too... you love me...
-Yes, Paddie. I do!
Sirius caught Remus between his arms and kissed him in the lips.
-I love you my Moony!
-Me too, Paddie, me too.
