Those left behind
The Pied Piper aka Hartley Rathaway stood inside the Flash museum. His steps led him to the Rogues Gallery. There was a case with "Former Rogues".
A statue of Roscoe, of the Rainbow Rider, there was Captain Boomerang, and there was Trickster.
Grinning at him through the glass, clad in his yellow-blue stripes; the sculptures were amazing, he had to admit. He looked almost real. Almost.
He sighed as his heart broke a little. He had watched James die. He blamed himself. If he hadn´t...if they´d listened...if he never
But it was too late. He would have to live with this guilt. For now.
Expect the unexpected
There was a puff of smoke. Then green flames burst through the ground, the stench of sulfur arose and there was a cracking sound. Wind came up and whisked the smoke away and revealed the silhouette of a figure. A man stepped forward. He brushed ash from his canary -yellow sleeve, patted out a single, tiny green flame on his blond hair, and straightened his striped pants.
James Jesse looked at the shocked group of superheroes surrounding him; at he dropped jaws, the wide eyes, the stuttered "How?"s, the "but"s. He cocked his head.
"What?" he asked while shrugging his shoulders.
Attention
Trickster coming back to life raised a lot of attention.
His announcement that he would become legit raised considerable, but less attention.
It didn´t surprise anybody that he was dating Piper.
And the only reply of their "moving together" was a "Took you long enough" from both the Rogues and the West family.
Domestic
When people thought of the couple Piper and Trickster they automatically assumed that Piper was "the woman" in this relationship.
He was smaller and more delicate than Trickster.
He also thought first before he acted.
While James was more the open leader-type, Hartley was the one in the background.
Trickster was brash, impulsive and just "active". Piper always seemed to be the passive one.
Their friends knew that Piper couldn´t do laundry, was more likely to blow up the kitchen when touching the stove than producing edible goods and had somehow managed to burn cornflakes. And also that Tricks´past provided the skills for sewing, cooking and cleaning. (He could brew nearly everything, from bubblefluid, to bubblegum and instant glue. He also baked his explosive pies all by himself. And all those "Jack in the Box"s of his had worn hand sewn clothes. And he could clear up his own mess really fast.
Hartley loved to shop in hardware stores, he bought himself a motorcycle and he loved baseball.
Movies
The first movie they both saw together was actually three movies. James got them tickets to a "Pirates of the Caribbean" marathon who played all the three movies in a row. "More time to make out" he explained while buying the popcorn.
They watched the first movie only interrupted by a little war about the chocolate bars. Then their attention shifted from the second movie to each other. They scooted closer and closer, started to hold hands and by the time Davy Jones showed up they were too busy to notice it.
After the credits rolled, they straightened their clothing and walked out of the cinema.
What James did not tell a sunken-in-blissful-thought-Piper was that he already had ordered two tickets for the Lord of the Rings: Extended Version movie night.
I only noticed afterwards that the drabbles actually follow a plotline
