Entry for "Transfigurations" at "Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (Challenges and Assignments)"
For the first assignment of the second term, write about one of the known animagus using their animal form.
I hope you like it, it was just a idea I had to write. :) Maybe this will get some loose continuations! :)
Night had fallen over the castle of Hogwarts and nothing but the moonlight shining through the high windows enlightened the long, deserted corridors.
On first sight it seemed like all inhabitants of the castle were asleep in their dormitories, but in reality, there still were some who were awake.
The gargoyle guarding the Headmaster's office did open the passage to the stairwell to let a shadow pass, unnoticed by the portraits hanging on the walls of the hallway, snoring loudly into darkness.
Minerva McGonagall sighed inwardly as she started to make her way towards her own rooms as a small tabby cat. Her paws made no sound on the cold stone floor and once again she felt happy about being an animagus – Albus and she could not use the rumours that would be spreading if somebody saw her leaving or entering his rooms in the middle of the night.
A inner smile graced over her as she thought about Albus and for one moment she was so buried in her mind that she jumped in shock as she heard a 'Meow' behind her.
Slowly, Minerva turned around and if she had been in her human form, she would have cursed out loud – Mrs Norris stood there, looking at her with a curious expression on her cat face.
"Are you new here?" The cat of the caretaker asked and Minerva hoped that she would be able to get rid of Mrs Norris soon.
"No, actually I have been around here for some time," Minerva meowed back – what did this walking feather duster want?!
"Do you want to be my friend? We could go and play together!" Mrs Norris asked and Minerva sighed to herself. Wasn't this ironic? The cat that could have gotten her into trouble, or at least could have helped to start rumours, wanted to befriend her.
"You know, I have to think about that... what do you like?" She asked, trying to spontaneously form a plan that would help her to shake that cat off.
"Oooh, I just loove to bust students, you know? Do you like that too?"
A hopeful expression did spread on Mrs Norris face and for a short moment Minerva thought about the fact that probably, Mrs Norris was a bit lonely – not a single life in the castle, except for Filch, felt sympathy for her.
But she was human after all and only because she was a cat lover did not meant that she had to like or even be friends with every cat that crossed her path.
"Not really one of my interests. Bye."
But the problem was not solved yet – as Minerva started to walk away she could sense how Mrs Norris hurried to follow her, exclaiming:"What do you like? Maybe I can like that too!"
"You know, something tells me that it would be impossible for us to like the same things."
And with that, Minerva passed the next corner and left Mrs Norris standing there in the hallway.
