My Withering Rose
By Reiia
In hope of world peace and love :)

She was a lady as beautiful as an angel. With skin as clear and crisp a winter snow. Yet branching out with such kindness and warmth, she healed my wounds and opened up my heart to hope and a new beginning. However, as time passed, it was obvious to see who was at a loss. Her beauty still strong, never rotting, but her will-power wearing down, slowly, little by little. And all awhile, I stood rock solid, down on one knee looking up in her deep-washed eyes and holding her hand tightly, knowing we could never be together.

Years flew by as we spent our last, happy moments together, holding on to our dearest memories and hopefully making newer ones with the short time we had. But as if a wall smacked in front of our helpless future, she was sent off abruptly to marry another man, painfully and against her will. Even with my heart stolen away, I did not change. Could not change, would not change. Still, there I stood rock solid, standing by her presence in loyalty and love as I watched her new family branch out towards hope.

Was I sad? Terribly so. Though also happy for her calm settlement into the more "human" lifestyle.

And now, as seaons come and go. Gone forever she is, I cry by her grave. For I will never change - never move, and always stand by her stone, rock solid, for the endless years to come.

Somewhat poetic. Extremely short on purpose. Well, it's just an exerpt that popped in my mind. Edward's point of view of course. :)

Please give me your opinions and comments! Enjoy!
