Elfen Lied and Fairy Tail Crossover

The Ice Queen (Remake)

New Beginnings

Kaede relaxed at last as everything faded to white, she was now unable to harm anyone again, at least, that's what she thoughts as she suddenly fell onto the ground with a solid thud. She sat up, head throbbing, as she looked around her. She was sat up, head throbbing, as she looked around her. She was in a small alley. If you could even call it that, with very old looking cottages on either side of her. She then realized that she was nude and back to normal, not a bloody puddle of goo on the floor. 'Where are we?' the familiar perky voice of Nyu rang through her head.

'I can only assume this is the afterlife...' she responded, standing up.

'I hear voices,' Lucy said to the others as she tried to pinpoint the location of the sounds.

'Dammit, we can't go out there looking like this!' Kaede said to the others.

'You're right. We could get put back in the facility if this isn't the afterlife,' Nyu replied.

'If there's anything left of it,' Lucy reminded them, as the collective peeked around the corner and saw the main street of a decently sized village. It looked to be very old in nature, with most buildings being in stone or wood. Not to mention, the clothes of a similar style one would expect in an area of seemingly Elizabethan buildings.

'What's going on here?' Kaede pondered as they gazed upon the villagers. 'Have we gone back in time or something?'

'Well, we need clothes either way, because apparently, we can't just walk around as is. So, let's hurry up and kill someone,' Lucy said lazily.

'No!' Kaede and Nyu chorused.

'No killing! Not if I can help it!' Kaede snapped at Lucy in her thoughts, just as a girl about her size and build walked past, 'I'll just render her unconscious' she said as the girl was yanked into the alleyway by one out of fifteen of her vectors. The girl screamed as she was pulled in and was quickly knocked out by a single vector.

'I hope that no one heard that.' Kaede said to the others.

'Yeah, me too. We'd be screwed otherwise,' Nyu replied.

'Hmph. I could care less what those humans think,' Lucy replied back in annoyance.

'Enough, Lucy,' Kaede said sternly, as she took the girls clothes off of her now limp body, and got dressed. They were slightly itchy and a little tight, but as far as stealing clothes from random strangers go, it wasn't bad for a first attempt. To help the girl get back home with some dignity, she left the overcoat that she was wearing with her behind, and walked out onto the street calmly.

It was a small village, the main street only had a few market stalls, shops, and an Inn or two. Feeling the pockets of her clothing, Kaede found a small change bg filled with different coins. They looked similar to Yen but had 'Jewels' written on each coin beside the number. After adding it up, she had about five hundred Jewels. It was not much, it seemed. She would need to find a job or something, getting more surer that this was not the afterlife, but a whole new world entirely.

Suddenly there was a roar from the Inn next to her, as two men, one with pink hair, a white dragon-scaled scarf, and a waistcoat. The other had black hair, wearing nothing but his boxers, burst out glaring at each other. Kaede blushed at the sight of the black-haired one's indecency. 'See, perfectly fine. The locals go around in their underwear,' Lucy taunted as Kaede suppressed the urge to yell at her, both in thought and voice.

"You want to say that again, Firecracker?" the half-naked one taunted.

"What? That you can't freeze anything bigger than a toothpick?" the other one replied with just as much venom in his voice as the former. "Also, put some clothes on. People are staring"

"Huh! How did that happen?!" He exclaimed as he looked down at his mostly nude body, before rushing back inside to grab his clothes.

'How does something strip and not realize that they have?' Lucy questioned rhetorically, her annoyance quickly rising.

The man came bursting out of the Inn once more, dressed in a casual shirt and cargo pants. "Alright, where were we?" He asked the pink-haired male.

"I believe I was about to beat you into the ground," he replied as the two headbutted, standing there while glaring at each other, foreheads pressed against one another's. After a moment, a woman with long, scarlet hair, wearing steel plate armor, and a scowl on her face, walked up to the two and promptly beat them on the head.

"Can you two go five minutes without fighting?" She asked them, before dragging them by the scruff of their clothes, back inside. Nyu giggled at the scene that had taken place. It was almost comical, like the kind you would see on a kid's TV show. Growing more curious, Kaede headed inside of the Inn.

Inside was a busy place, despite being a small village, this Inn was packed with patrons at tables and bars. It didn't take long for Kaede to spot the group, the pair of men were fighting again, while the scarlet-haired woman tried to separate them. Beside them, was a young blonde, not much older than herself with her face in her hands, and a young girl, not older than twelve with long dark-blue hair and a dress on. Though the most peculiar thing was the two cats that were flying around them. The trio of personalities had to do a double take to make sure they were there. Sure enough, the two cats were flying around the pair of fighters with small, angel-like wings, sprouting from their backs.

As they walked up to the entourage of strange people, Kaede, Lucy, and Nyu all noticed that they had a similar symbol on them. The blonde on the back of her right hand, the dark blue-haired girl on her right shoulder, the scarlet-haired woman on her left arm, the pink-haired man on his right shoulder, and the black-haired man on his right pectoral, which was currently visible as his shirt wasn't done up, and flapping around. It looked to be a bird sitting on an arrow that twisted off into flames almost, and each member had it in a different color. The armored woman still trying to separate the two. "Natsu! Gray! Could you not fight for one moment in your life?!"

The blonde suddenly roared at the two. "You're making everyone stare at us!" Sure enough, the entire bar-part of the Inn was watching their squabble. At last, the two broke apart, still scowling at each other.

'Let's go say hi' Nyu suggested, her obnoxious presence dominating the mind.

'No,' Kaede and Lucy replied.

'We can't just waltz up to them! People are still watching!' Slowly, people had turned back to their food and drinks, but many were still gazing at the gang. That tattoo probably meant they were in one, though it seemed strange to have a girl not much older than Mayu, if not older at all, in the said gang. Instead, Kaede walked up to the bar and asked the bartender. "What do you have for five hundred Jewels?" The gruff man eyed her suspiciously.

"Not much... I can get you a small drink for that much. Anything else will cost more." He glanced to the side, she followed his glance to see the pink-haired man from earlier, who she assumed is Natsu, was sniffing her. She looked at him in shock.

"You smell funny," he said bluntly to her.

"Natsu! Stop sniffing random people!" Came the blonde again.

"Hey, calm down Lucy..." He practically moaned this as he turned around to let the trio see her feebly beating on him in a way to be annoying.

Another sniff was heard as Kaede turned to face the other girl, who was also sniffing her. "He's right, you do smell strange," she said to her.

"Wendy! You're not helping!" Lucy yelled at the girl, raising her fist.

"Now look who's attracting attention," Gray said, who was once again, in his boxers. That made Lucy freeze, before gingerly waving to the onlookers.

"Eh heh, heh..." she smiled, before they turned back around. She let loose a sigh of relief, before turning to Kaede. "I'm sorry for my friends' behavior. They will be apologizing now, won't they?" She said the last part with a stern voice rather than an apologetic one, as she turned to Natsu, who was avoiding eye contact with her as he scratched the back of his head.

"Yeah, sure. Sorry," Wendy gave a similar, and if more feminine look as she apologized as well.

"It's okay," Kaede answered politely, before asking. "What are those tattoos that you all have?"
