"To burn with desire and keep quiet about it is the greatest punishment we can bring on ourselves." – Federico García Lorca

It was an ordinary day in the Wizarding World, as ordinary a day could be without the impending doom of Voldermort (now dead, thank goodness). People bustling in and out of shops, pranks between teenagers, reporters hiding and snapping photos, and wanna-be Death Eaters plotting.

Except the day was anything but ordinary in one person's life. There was 25 days left until Christmas and this year, Pansy Parkinson was going to make sure she got what she wanted this year. She didn't want much for Christmas. There was one thing on her Christmas list and it read: Harry Potter. No one knew about her crush on the Boy Who Wouldn't Die; not her parents (now dead), not her closest girlfriends (though not so close since the war ended), and not even her best friends, Draco Malfoy and Blaise Zabini. Not one soul knew of her secret and a secret it would remain until Potter was within her grasp and permanently trapped (willingly or not).

It's been 7 years since the war and the Wizarding World was well on its way to recovering. Hogwarts was rebuilt and Diagon Alley never looked better. Unfortunately people's opinions weren't any better towards Pansy, if anything, they were worse. People didn't associate much with Pansy, not even her so called closest girlfriends. One opinion and one mistake later and the whole world turned their back on her. Not even her Slytherins would look her in the eyes, except for Malfoy and Zabini. She believed it to be brilliantly ironic that the moment she decided to voice the same idea that was running through all the Slytherin's minds during the war, she wasn't even respected by them. It was a coward's idea, one that she wasn't proud of.

Unlike most, she didn't care so much about blood purity or elitist ideals. Granted, she did treat muggleborns and half bloods horribly throughout her Hogwarts career, but as Malfoy and Zabini's best friend and as being 1/3 of the Slytherin Trio, she had a role to play and a part to act. Pansy had a reputation to uphold as the Slytherin Princess – wealthy pureblood with an expensive fashionista taste, a cutthroat cunning edge, sharp wit, nonchalant arrogance, smug confidence, and underestimated intelligence. Contrary to what many believed, Pansy was no idiot. She was incredibly intelligent, but preferred to be underestimated. She enjoyed the element of surprise and that was how she was going to capture the one and only Harry Potter. It was going to be a surprise he would never forget, not even an Obliviate would suffice.

Not many people really knew Pansy, she'd been taught her whole life to be a Parkinson. But if Malfoy had the courage to disobey his family and generations of pureblood elitist ideals to pursue Granger, then she could screw the world. Harry Potter was going to become hers. And to hell with the rules.

It's short, but reviews are love!
