All I can say is it's been an odd day. Word Count is 240, standard disclaimers apply, please review, you should be able to figure out who the story's about (if not, rewatch the first episode), yada yada yada...
They were excited, my brothers and sisters. The One was awakening from slumber and they cried out, desperate for their cries to be heard. They longed to be free once again, to feel the sun on their backs and the wind in their faces and water around their ankles and the great blue expanse where nothing stood in your way and oh.
Oh. The One was coming closer.
My brothers and sisters radiated joy, relieved that The One had finally heard our silent summons and had chosen to answer. A few of my more patient siblings and I got them to not disturb The One any further. We had already been captives for a long time—a few more minutes couldn't hurt.
The One tried to say a name. Stumbled. The others were getting anxious, impatient; Freedom was so close, taunting the captives, offering a helping hand yet holding it out of reach. Pouting and teasing when we couldn't reach.
My name. The One spoke my name. What choice had I but to respond?
Freedom bored of her game and grabbed our hands, pulling us out of our bondage. My brothers and sisters were overjoyed at the prospect of leaving, of being within their element and bending it to their desires. Freedom's pull was strong on me, too.
But you don't have to worry, Little One.
The wind always guides the cherry blossoms safely on their path. You are no exception.
