Damon Paced outside Elena's window, contemplating whether or not he should return her necklace filled with vervain. He decided he should give the necklace back, he jumped up to Elena's window sill and pried the window open. He noticed that the washroom faucet was on, he guessed Elena was getting ready for bed. This should be interesting Damon thought.

Elena walked out of the washroom,

"Cute PJ's" Damon said.

"I'm tired, Damon"

He slowly walked over to Elena, grabbed the vervain necklace out of his pocket and held it up.

"I brought you this" said Damon.

Elena opened her mouth in surprise, how did he find that?

"I thought it was gone!" she said.

"No" Damon said.

"Thank you," Elena said and reached to grab it, Damon was faster and pulled the necklace away from Elena. "Please give it back,"

"I just have to say something" Damon told Elena with authority.

"Why do you have to say it with my necklace?" Elena asked.

"Because what I'm about to say… is probably… the most selfish thing I've ever said in my life" Damon whispered to me.

Elena breathed in a deep breath

"Damon, don't go there"

"No, I just have to say it once. You need to hear it" Elena didn't know what she was thinking; she wanted Damon to kiss her. There was a long pause.

"I love you, Elena" Elena was shocked. Damon was staring right at Elena watching her every facial expression.

Damon continued "And it's because I love you that I can't be selfish with you."

"I don't deserve you, but my brother does" Damon explained. He leaned forward and kissed Elena on the cheek and lingered there for many seconds.

"God, I wish you didn't have to forget this" Damon said with a genuine look of sadness in his eyes.

"But you do" Damon focused his pupils dilated, nothing happened. He tried again. Nothing.

Elena reached for her wrist which and uncovered a vervain filled charm bracelet.

"I love you too Damon" Elena said.

"Sneaky… Wait! What about Stefan?"Damon whispered to Elena

"We broke up" Elena said with a hint of happiness in her tone. "Damon I love you, I don't have feelings for Stefan"

"I don't believe you" Damon began to walk towards the window.

Elena grabbed Damon's arm and spun him around

"Would I do this if I still had feelings for Stefan?" Elena put her arms around Damon's neck and kissed him with as much passion as she could ever kiss with.

Damon pulled away and said "I believe you know" Damon ran out of the window as fast as he could just as Jenna walked through the door,

"I thought I heard a voice coming from up here" Jenna said in a suspicious tone.

"I was talking to Caroline on speaker phone" Elena said matter-of-factly

"Oh ok, I also wanted to say that I'm going out with Alaric tonight so you will be home alone, because Jeremy is with Bonnie on a date and probably won't be back for a long time"

"Ok, I think I'll be fine. I'll just watch movies or call Stefan" Elena said

"I'm going to go now" Jenna left Elena's Bedroom

Elena heard the front door close; Damon appeared out of nowhere and engulfed Elena in a spinal tingling kiss.

Damon and Elena Slowly made their way over to Elena's bed, never breaking lip- contact.

In one minute Elena's shirt and Damon's shirt were lying on the ground.

"I love you, Damon" Elena said out-of-breath

"I love you too" Damon said, their bodies being intertwined.

From that moment on, Damon knew Elena would be his for the rest of eternity.
